2015 LTX DX FUEL GAUGE ISSUE

MY FUEL GAUGE IS OFF BY AT LEAST A HALF TO A QUARTER. COMING OUT OF THE WOODS APPROACHING A ROAD CROSSING THE SLED SPUTTERED AND QUIT. FUEL GAUGE SHOWING ABOVE A QUARTER AND BELOW HALF. KEEP IN MIND I WAS ALREADY HEADING TO TOWN FOR FUEL.SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE TRAIL I DETERMINED THAT THE TANK WAS EMPTY.

I TESTED SENDING UNIT WHICH TESTED OK
WHAT I REALLY NEED IS FOR SOMEBODY TO REMOVE THERE SEAT, TAKE A PICTURE OF SENDING UNIT SO I CAN SEE THE ORIENTATION WHEN BOLTED TO THE TANK.I NEED A COMPARISON
IM HOPING ITS JUST INSTALLED WRONG.

ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED

Pull the sending unit out of the tank. It is just held together with a zip tie, mine came apart and was acting similar to yours.

THE UNIT WAS PULLED OUT ALREADY AND ALL IN WORKING ORDER BUT THE ORIENTATION ON HOW IT IS POSITIONED IN THE TANK IS MY NEXT THOUGHT THATS WHY I NEED SOME ONE TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE SENDING UNIT WHEN ITS BOLTED TO THE TANK

I took the picture from standing on the back right (throttle side). I know nothing has been tampered or changed as I have .2 miles on this thing! bought it and havent ridden it yet!!!

THANKS SO MUCH MNMAN BUT THAT IS THE FUEL PUMP I NEED A PICTURE OF THE SENDING UNIT SMALL ROUND TWO WIRE UNIT CLOSER TO THE FRONT OF THAT TANK

It is in the 2oclock position if you use where the wires come out. There is a raised tab at the 3 oclock position but it is just before that. Again taken at the right side of the sled.

Installed at factory wrong? If so please be sure to have dealer submit at least a warranty report. They need to know these things. Great problem solving who would have guessed something so simple would cause this.

After 20yrs as a tech i have learned 1 vital thing with the diagnostic work, check all the basics before getting a head of yourself. you be surprised how many things are f&& up from the factory.
