Have the chance to buy a 2015 rtx-le with fox evol shocks and the 1.7 inch track. I am looking for some recommendations for this sled or to buy a 2016 with the new fox coil over shocks. I like to ride aggressive but don't want to get beat up on the studder bumps. I know the evol shocks have a wide range of adjustment but still am concerned about the stiffness, ease of getting shock set up, etc. Thanks!

TDmax has the LE with the 1.7 snowX track and has reported some damage to it after the first year. Is the 15 a new left over, or used. Price would help me make the decision as not much changed 15 to 16 other than the shocks. Not sure if they fixed the rear shock valving in 16, but in the 15s it was off (more so on the LTX). Revalving rear will fix that, and once done you will not get beat up in the stutters. On my LTX, front floats were good, but I did add the Hygear resi's this summer to improve performance over the full travel range. The new fox coil overs should be more linear than the floats, and not get super stiff near the top of compression like air shocks do. Getting the rear right is where the ride performance in the bumps is at. Even if you had to revalve the rear shocks, it is only $200 or so. If you don't like the 1.7 track on the 15 and choose to change the track to something more trail friendly, your looking at another $600. It comes down to cost versus benefits. I wouldn't be afraid of the 15 for ride quality as that is fixed inexpensively. If the 15 is new, and priced to allow for some rear shock work and a new track if you don't like the 1.7, and some other mods (HID lights $140; skid plate $150; tether $60; etc) I'd probably go that way. If price is close between both, I'd go with the 16. I believe that you can buy YES on the 15, even if used, as long as the original warranty hasn't expired. Some please correct me if I'm wrong here.

It is a new 15 and the difference is around $1000 but does have a 4 year warranty. Thanks for the input on the 1.7 track too.. I guess it comes down to is that winter is short enough and how much time will it take me to really dial it in versus turn key and ride. Wondering how much speed is lost with the 1.7 as well.

Your correct Snoninja on the warranty. Just as long as the original 1 year warranty has not expired yet you can add more YES plan years up to a total of 5 years.

I would read TD max' posts. For me I liked the Evo and rezzy shocks he had on there but he did not and had them revalved. The 1.7 track also comes with different gearing. The lower gearing and manure spreader track which throws chunks of snow like no other makes the sled a absolute rocket from 0-50 with a top speed of 80 or less. If you can live with a slow top end not many will beat it on the low end and launch. The 15 LE was basically a consumer SnoX sled. The shocks have enough adjustment to give a great ride for trails though. Just depends on how you want to ride.
