Happy sledding! Vermont looks like a GREAT place to ride! It's one of the places on my bucket list.

I will be sure to let you know what changes and I make!
VT is a beautiful place and I am lucky to call it home! Where I ride is tight and twisty trails but a little further north of me is wider open and you can get in more miles. I love it here! I'd love to go out west some day!
Thanks again for the help!

Lori, one other thing you may want to consider is a 13mm sway bar, I have had this chassis in a 2009 Vector GT and also a 2004 Warrior and a 2007 RS Nytro (not exactly the same) With the power steering I wouldn't worry about too much carbide. The 13mm Bar takes all the body roll out of the sled, I found it to be a must do mod for these Yamahas. I'm actually torn, I love the Nytro I have but would like a sled with PS and don't think they'll be making the Vector much longer. I love your area, I ride there every year out of the Comfy or Maplewood, also rented a house on Coles Pond once.

The abilities of power steering in these sleds are vastly overrated. Just my two cents.

They make Snowtrackers for Tuners. That's your best bet. If you buy 2 sets of carbides then the price will be the same. The Snowtrackers will give it positive and lighter steering. Travis at Barn of parts can help you with the Snowtrackers.

Really...that's the first time I've heard that about PS, I have only ridden one for about 5 miles on a rail trail so I couldn't say...just going on what I have heard here. Are you saying PS steering effort is heavy? The abilities of power steering in these sleds are vastly overrated. Just my two cents.

I think, and please correct me if I am wrong, is that PS cannot make up for the handling deficiencies of the chassis. Turning effort was never a complaint of mine, except on very hard and twisty trails. And then even my 2s riding partners experience the same thing. Heavy steering effort. Snow trackers certainly help. So do shimmed and properly installed carbides from other manufacturers. Lightened steering effort would be welcomed at times on my non PS sled, but it doesn't change the physics of riding a 660lb (wet weight) missile. 4strokeluvr111 swears the performance dampeners are the way to go for making a DBII sled handle correctly.
. Ha!

I think PS is supposed to help the most at low speed? The only time I dislike either of my Nytros is at about mile 200 of 250 but it sure would be nice to have PS help those last 50 miles.I think, and please correct me if I am wrong, is that PS cannot make up for the handling deficiencies of the chassis. I would like to experience a PS sled. But likely never will unfortunately. My 2008 is still running strong and if I do decide to upgrade to a new Yamaha it will likely be to one on the Cat chassis.I think PS is supposed to help the most at low speed? That's the same boat I am in, interesting to see what happens with Cat now that Textron bought them, I don't want to hijack the thread hear so I will say I have had great luck with SnowTrackers!I would like to experience a PS sled. I tried the Bergstroms with shims last year on mine and the wife's sled and was not overly impressed, Left the shims in on mine and installed snowtrackers and found that they work great with no darting. Pulled a fast one on the wife and installed my triple points on the outside of her skis and she said that it was better than the triple points and hard rods. I like the snowtrackers better for aggressive riding.

Sorry Dan...totally disagree with you. Still think the ST's are only for the real serious, "always focused" rider. If you're lazy and are just cruising around and OH SHEET, here's a corner and try to turn, over the sled goes. BUt that's me.

Maybe I was asking for too much of PS. If you're at a dead stop in mushy snow and try to turn the bars, they don't turn. I don't think EPS helps much at low speeds at all. Maybe my EPS unit is weak? I dunno. From a steering perspective, my 05 steers easier than my 14....at all speeds.

4strokeluvr111 swears the performance dampeners are the way to go for making a DBII sled handle correctly --- oh yea for sure! Everybody run out and buy a set for your DB2 or DB3 chassis!
I think, and please correct me if I am wrong, is that PS cannot make up for the handling deficiencies of the chassis. -- that's for sure. The laws of physics are really in play with these heavy pigs. Try running the North Shore State Trail in MN for a day. You'll FEEL how much PS does not make a difference in an all day run. My 05 can run on it all day and I don't feel tired. But I am 57, not 27!

Well first off , If you on a sled going through the twisty trails you should always be paying attention!! I just got back from 375 miles of near perfect trails in Forest Co Wis . Yes with the rain the corners are full of Ice. I can Say with out a doubt that the Snow trackers performed unbelievable !! They make the sled just that much better and the confidence in corners was awesome. If you haven't tried them then you will never know. Time to wash them up and put them away.........
