2015 RTX LE arrived

Yamaha CS has stated to that the shocks on the display model were "special" because what they intended to provide was not yet available.

I think I can sum this all up in one word: Unethical
That's b.s. The shocks were available from cat off of a 2014RR production sled,I'm sure cat had some they could've gave to their "buddies" at yamaha to put on the sleds for brochure photos and the media to ride and put in their spring buyers guide,to purposely put the wrong shocks on and not be right up front with consumers is a poor way to do business,no more spring orders from me,not yamaha anyways

I can't believe the way yamaha through their dealers under the bus. The guy told me that yami was not going to do anything for me but I should talk to my dealer and ask if they could do something!!! I didn't buy the sled from f&s, I bought it from yamaha as a spring order. The sled just passes through the dealership for set up, but a spring order sled is a contract with yamaha to build you the sled and deliver it to a dealer to pass it on to the consumer. If I went into a dealers stock inventory then your dealing with the dealer because they purchased it from yami and they know what they can sell it for to make money. He also told me that a letter is PROBABLY going to go out to all the le buyers explaining that the sleds are coming through with a different ( lesser grade) shock package!!! Maybe they should have said that at the time of the spring order and what about the people who already picked up their sled. Sheesh I'm frustrated, I can't talk to another rep from yami because ill definitely tell them where to shove the sled, but even through all this I still want the sled because I feel bad throwing this crap at the dealer when all they are doing is just delivering the sled that yami gave to them. Boy do we need snow to make all of this go away.
for me snow will definitely make this go away,I hear ya I contemplated buying a different sled or brand too so I know how ya feel,I just couldn't replace it for the money or get the 5yr warranty anywhere else

I've been following this story closely, I couldn't log on until today. I'm in Ontario Canada, I've let my dealer know there are some issues too. Waiting to talk to them again to see what's up. I've had mine home since Sept 3rd! got married on Sept 5th and wanted it home! lol

So what i am hearing you say is pre season is a deal with yamaha not the dealer.
If thats actually the case why not refuse delivery?
The dealer only loses the setup charge. no big deal there.
Let your dealer call yamaha and tell them to send a truck to pick the sled up. he can tell them he didnt buy the sled, you did, and you dont want it because its not what was advertised.

Doesn't work that way, when yamaha ships a spring order sled to the dealer it gets invoiced to him and he has 6 days to pay for it,so whether you pick it up or not he pays for it,my dealer is a small dealer and a good friend of mine so that's why I took delivery and I'm trying to sort it out with yamaha, but these other guys can refuse but I'm sure they'll lose the $500 deposit and someone else is gonna get a good deal on an LE

Thats actually how i thought it worked,
Your original post had me thinking something else was happening.

This is a crappy lose lose situation for everyone involved. Yamaha, the dealers, the customers.
Yamaha has to know they are damaging their spring order program and reputation.
The dealers are feeling the squeeze from unhappy customers.
Customers are not going to make the same mistakes twice.
in my opinion this is going to hurt the spring order program.
I have spring ordered 2 yamaha sleds in the past and I know i will never spring order another yamaha snowmobile seeing what they have done here.
I really feel for you guys, i was gonna spring order the 15 rtx but was offered a great deal on the 14 rtx so i went with the 14 rtx.

The spring order sleds contract is THROUGH the dealers but the contract is WITH Yamaha, the dealer loses if we don't take delivery plus we lose our five hundred dollars. Yamaha has it set up that they don't lose, they tell the dealers how many sleds they have to take and even what kind of sleds, and on the spring ordered sleds they get paid basically upon delivery. If Yamaha changes something they just do it and let the dealer handle all the people griping, just like what's happening here. But this isn't just with Yamaha, this is with all manufacturers, a guy I know had a Polaris dealership and when he refuse to take the amount of sleds they wanted to give him they dropped him as a dealer. Bad part of it was he had brand new sleds that were four years old still sitting at his place, which isn't to uncommon at a lot of dealerships when you get year after year of low snow amounts. Unfortunately we are all just little people to them and know with that little disclaimer at the bottom of the page there butts are in the clear if they make a change that we don't like. Our only recourse against them is to not spring order another sled, I think for all the le buyers we all have a bitter taste in our mouths from yami. I for one will not be doing this anytime soon, I'll want to see with my own two eyes what I'm buying before any money goes out of my pocket.

Took delivery of my Orange/Blue RTX today. GREAT looking sled!! Dealer is still working on a solution/compromise with Yamaha. Has a meeting later this month and promises that this will be a topic of discussion. BTW. Didn't the show sleds have hooked brake handles?? Mine does not, but I sure thought they had them at the show...
