Has anyone found a standard deep ball bearing to fit the upper chaincase of the 2015. The wobble bearing is 30 x 62 x 20 mm wide. I would like to get rid of this Chinese bearing and don't believe a wobble bearing is required on this chassis.

Problem with the 15 shaft is it’s a tapered shaft/ bearing with a locking collar...upgrade to 17 shaft if you want a standered bearing.

My sled is a 2015 XF 7000. The shaft is straight and there is no locking collar. Bearing is held on with a shim and lock ring.

I was just looking at an NTN catalog and found a 2206 self aligning double row ball bearing 62 od x 30 id x 20 mm wide, straight shaft bore. I believe this will do the job.

You are correct the shaft is straight, the inner race on the wobble bearing has a taper, as does the locking sleeve. My sled is a 2015 XF 7000. The shaft is straight and there is no locking collar. Bearing is held on with a shim and lock ring.

I upgraded mine to the 16 shaft last year and forgot about shim...there is a tapered fag bearing that fits...my problem was my lock ring was put on too tight and I had to pretty much destroy it to get it off. That’s why I upgraded to 16 shaft to get rid of lock ring system.

Did you use the special socket to get it off, I used a big flathead screwdriver and rubber mallet and it came off fairly easy without any damage.View attachment 142994

Well your 15 Vipers must use the 14 shaft. My 15 XF has a straight shaft, straight inner race, but still a double row wobble bearing. There is no locking sleeve. I just heated the secondary bearing brace and tapped the shaft out. Cat must have an interum shaft/bearing design for 15. I am planning to use an NTN 2206 (no K) which appears to be a straight inner race. I am removing all the Chinese bearings since I have it all apart. The lower left brake side bearing was also seized. Shaft is good. I also have a plan to lock the bearing to the shaft so it can't spin.

Only issue with using a regular bearing in your sled is a spacer for the snapring in case will have to be made or you might get away with just adding a snapring to the clutch side brace.

Yup bought one...think somebody else was in there before me and used a punch instead of special socket and overnighted...was a b*&ch to get off and collar was ruined. My buddy did his at same time and had no problem.

Janne I believe found a regular bearing. In this thread or one of the others in FAQ.
