2015 Viper R-TX-DX arrived

So now it would be interesting to get some caliper measurements of ski width keel width and depth at certain places that compare to last years skis.

:jump:black is nice! congrats

Like the manual says below the bars and to the LH side should be a big rocker switch that looks like this:

Nope, no rocker switch anywhere on the left side below the bars. Looked all over. Looks like Yamaha forgot the switch and not sure about the heater element.

Also, Found one screw on the left side under the wind shield secured only about half way down. Some pretty sloppy stuff so far. Back to the dealer to get it right.

Can anyone send a picture of their seat heater switch from a ways back. Thanks.

That's a pretty big oversite...missing the rocker switch. To check if they installed the actually seat heater, you could try to remove the seat and see if there is a wire coming out of it.

Maybe it's possible that AC/Yamaha changed the controls onto the handlebar.

Good Idea Grimm, I'll pull the seat today and see if the wire/element is present. I did look over the rest of the controls initially trying to find the switch. I hope your right and they moved switch. I'll talk to the dealer today too and see if he knows anything about it or can make a contact at AC/Y. The manual is certainly not correct. I checked for any loose adendums in the manual and did not find any.

I pulled the seat and there is a wire harness connected to the seat. I assume that is for the heater element so at least that's there. I checked for a loose wire/connector under the clutch side shroud and did not find anything dangling. I went over the controls one more time and no rocker switch that I can find. I'll watch for any other ideas here, otherwise I'll be checking with the dealer to find out if AC/Y missed installing the rocker switch or if it's in some mystery location not described in the manual.

I will also have to take the windshield off to get to the one screw tightened about half way (sticking up) that AC/Y missed. I also noticed some really rough edges on the body panels. Definately not the quality of fit and finish of my 2001 SXR-700. I had thought Yamaha was overseeing quality/production on these AC built sleds?

I think it's missing on his sled! Just an inch or two from the seat if I remember correctly. On the centerline of gas filler neck, left side. I'll get a picture when I get home later this evening!

Theres pics somewhere on my build
Switch is to the left of the gasfill cap

It's missing. Looked all over the sled. My dealer emailed the Yamaha rep to see if they integrated it into the gauge cluster or combined it with another switch, or forgot to install it, or ??? Never the less, the manual I got with the sled shows it in the left of the gas cap position.

looks like it is on the left of steering post just like the 2014 at least in that pic but your right hard to see

Yeah, it looks like it could be there in the picture, but hard to tell. I went and double checked mine, and it's not there. I tried taking a picture but all black gloss shows no details. So I'll wait for Yamaha to get back or the dealer and go from there. I hope it's not combined with the grip or throttle heater as separate control of all 3 heat elements would be greatly preferred.

Thanks for the picture. That confirms it's not there if that's where it's supposed to be on the 2015 (which is where the manual also shows it). I'll see what Yamaha & the dealer say, but it looks like they missed that part of the build.

hopefully it has the correct wiring harness as you stated there is no loose plugs that you saw
