I'm wondering if the switch is under the gas tank cover , maybe it's there they just never cut the hole and mounted it !!!!!

That's a good question. I only pulled the side panel exposing the clutch/belt and looked up and around and did not see any loose wiring (wanted to make sure if there was loose wiring it didn't get wound up in the belt/clutch). I'm at work but later I can try to pull the gas tank cover panel and see if it's there (not sure how hard that will be). The seat heater itself is connected wiring headed forward (probably part of the harness).I did fish around the edges of the gas tank cover to see if there was any wiring there and did not detect any. If the switch is there and there's a cutout/knockout unde the panel I'd love to just finish the job myself rather than visit the dealer. I assume since the seat heater is an option for non-DX Vipers, you can add the switch via a nockout or cut out template. Still no word from Yamaha or the Dealer, but I'm sure they are busy working on an answer............

To get that cover ( panel ) off is pretty easy , take both side panels off then the seat and the tank cover will come off ...

Here's a pic of my 2015 Viper R-TX-DX dash area. As you can see no switch for the seat heater present in the expected location. Talked to my dealer today and he said Yamaha wanted my VIN is investigating and will get back. I was able to easily pop out the mesh grill just in front of the steering column and I reached around under the plastic dash area where the switch would be and there's no lose switch hanging there. There are 2 holes about 2" in diameter under the mesh that may be openings that wiring could be routed down to the chassis. I reached in the hole on the left side (as seated) and there seems to be a female connector that is not connected to anything. So that may be where the switch connects and it's just not there. So thanks for all the help verifying the switch location. Now it's up to the dealer and Yamaha.

I also fired up the dash and checked the function buttons and the seat heater switching does not appear to be moved to the dash switching.

Personally I find it funny that heated seats are standard on all 4 stroke arctic cat's but yet it's an option on some Yamaha's. When I ordered my XTX this spring my dealer didn't even mention heated seat, so not sure if it will be on my sled or not.

For some reason my last response posts were deleted and nobody contacted me if there was and issue. But anyway, My dealer contacted me and said Yamaha believes there was an error (the switch location was not moved from 2014) and they forgot to install the switch. Yamaha is sending a switch to the dealer and the dealer will notify me when it arrives and arrange an install. Thanks for all the inputs and info.

Sorry for your inconvenience but gave us all something legit to think about.

I would be curious to know how they put the rectangular hole in the console piece as I'll have to do the same operation to add my heated seat. I would hope that with today's technology the piece will have the outline pattern for the cutout on the backside.

At least that would be nice. Polaris did this on the Ranger dash parts on my 2013 so when I added the heater kit all I had to do was cut along the lines.

Reference back to the 1st post in this thread ....

I got the call that my Viper has arrived at the dealership. They should have it setup and ready to go in about 2 weeks. They are swamped right now with 'summer work'. Which is OK with me. I'm in no hurry to get it - just glad it's now instead of late Nov. Sled is 2015 SR Viper RTX SE in blue/white.

Got a VM from my dealer, switch has not arrived but will contact me when it does for installation. I also got a VM from a Yamaha rep., he advised that the dealer will fix it at my convenience. Yamaha contacted other dealers and this was not a large scale miss, just mine. Good news on your arrival at the Dealer GT! The screw I found loose under the windshield appears to be stripped and will not tighten. It's either missing a retainer or it's stripped. I can run it down by finger and it just turns at bottom. I'll let the dealer sort that one out.

Congratulations! Go get'er and post some pics. Remind the dealer to dothe fuel line recall and save a trip.

I pick up my RTX SE on Friday!!!
