I've read on here somewhere. How the fox shocks Yamaha uses are somewhat knock offs. If you ever call fox and try to order the air shocks on your sled you will either get the same cheap ones or bore basic. or something that cost twice as much that will be a better shock. And I think was on a different post how Yamaha orders these floats with the same valving to make it easy and cheap. Where as if you got them valved differently it would be a way better shock
It's the same with my side by side. I've looked on the website for the same fox shocks as what's on it and they do not sell them. It's kinda like Ford trucks. They get rancho to build their shocks for the name. But the body has fomoco stamped in the body. End result is an over priced crappy shock that again is a totally different shock if you got right from rancho. And imo. Fox shocks aren't that great. I got a set on my truck. Not worth the money same with the ones on Ford raptors. They can't take the cold. My buddy had 36k on his raptor as a daily driver and the shocks were finished after the second winter
upnumber6.....that's what all the OEMS do when they buy shocks, they order large quantities of the exact same shocks built to the OEM specifications required to fox or whomever is building them. shock companies will build shocks for the OEMS that are specific to that specific OEM and not necessarily for sale as an publically available aftermarket shock. All shocks are manufactured to different tolerances and assembled and sold accordingly.
Cheaper base model shocks have bigger tolerances than their high end shocks, the shocks are assembled by grabbing parts manufactured to a specified tolerance from bins and assembled other with parts manufactured to a specified tolerance to build the shock. if you happen to get a shock that has parts are the loose end of the specified tolerances, you will end up with an inferior product....
The race teams will get the tight tolerance stuff that is hand picked and assembled which other hand picked parts to achieve the optimum clearances therefore creating a superior product at premium cost, as opposed to grabbing parts for bins and grabbing and assembling.
Also any shock no matter how cheap or expensive is better if it is valved for an individual person.
Its like they sayYOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR....my buddies ZO6 corvette is a far superior product than his dads C6 corvette.
cheers

No it did not ,and I like the way it's performing right now but I ,like a lot of you wonder what will happen when that shock goes and you're 100 miles from anything . I had a 2005 rage and the rear shock broke and believe it or not the center shock saved me and I was able get back to my trailer1320 did your shock blow to out to
