I had my 1.25 track switched out to a 1.5 ice Cobra. When that was done they switch to the smaller driver. My speedometer used to be very accurate now it reads 115 when the GPS tells me 100. In addition my fuel consumption is a little more than it used to be. Is there something that I can do to get it back to the way it used to be accuracy wise? In addition my top speed is less than it used to be although it is still plenty fast. As a side note this track is Light Years better than my old one. I had no idea how much track slippage I had in the past.

I am thinking of purchasing the upgraded shock. If I were to do that would my 5-year yes warranty cover it? I have seen it listed for 300 and change on a few websites. If the results are as good as posted on here it seems like a no-brainer

My new track seems to eat hyfax in the front near the bend. I have ordered ice scratchers, the marginal snow wheel kit and I'm thinking of getting the DuPont hyfax. In addition I have shortened my limiter strap one hole. I feel pretty certain this will take care of things but is there anything I'm missing?
Thank you!

You could change the upper gear to one tooth larger to make up for some top end loss and bring the speedo closer to GPS readings.

What were you seeing for top end with the stock ripsaw 2 track?

I would say your new track is just heavier and there's more rotating mass ,there for a little lower speeds and more fuel consumption1

I added an extra wheel on each side upfront behind the stock wheels right off the bat before I put 1 mile on the sled I have 2000 miles on it with little to no hyfax wear1

Last year I think I got about 110 top end
I forgot to mention that my 1.25 ripsaw track was studded (~100 studs) so I don't think single-ply ice Cobra is heavier. I think it might actually be lighter.

The smaller drivers that were switched to were they 2.52 or 2.86 pitch? 7 tooth 2.86 drivers will gear it down.
To make the speedo more accurate, you could cut 1 or 2 teeth off of the speedo pickup wheel on the drive shaft. Grind off one and try it, it my need two.

i would call your dealer on that shock. they might give you one if you complain. usually changing to a taller lug track will scrub off top speed.

Do you mean 110 mph I'm not doubting what you saw but I think you're speedometer is way off I don't see those kind of speeds Out of an apex especially at 2016

I never put them on. They're sitting on my workbench. I think I'm going to sell them. Although I should put them on I did burn through new Dupont Hyfax last season and two regular sets the year before that. I blame it on early morning UP wot for miles on end
