2016 LTX LE Hard Starting issues

As a final test hook jumper cables from your truck or car not running directly to the battery. If it cranks over good and fast go buy a new battery before you wreak the starter gear.
ok- cannondale what is your voltage showing after it had been fully charged and then after it has sit for like 2 days. Is there a drop

battery was fully charged this am so 12.7 and i changed the oil on it this afternoon- let it heat up and cycle a few times to check the oil level and then it has sat for 1 hr and im down to 12.0- i then did voltage test while cranking it and seen 10.8 as the lowest voltage and it started fine but to me that sounds low

I havent had mine on a charger in over a year. Hang tight I will check cranking voltage.
12.67 and while cranking 11.8v downloading video now

I have fought this issue since day 1 and keep being told the battery is fine. I will pickup a new battery tommarrow and give it a try. I have been trying to not bring the machine to the dealer as it has been all apart with the track change, intake, exhaust and im sure they will blame that. Thanks so much for your help cannondale!

Your welcome! Buy a Yuasa same as stock or a Deka. Fully charge it before install maybe even get a new charger since its always possible the charger fryed your batt. Optimate is what I recommend. Happy Trails!

Sorry to be a jerk but dude it's a battery. They go bad all the time. Sledders find the tiniest crap to whine about. Sometimes you just got to say f!ck it and just deal with the problem. Complaining with out providing a solution is just whining. So much whining. It I I minor issue. You could be riding a Polaris and motors blowing up. That would be a serious issue worth complaining about. No sense wasting time on a 100$ item and risk wasting rid time over.

People tend to overuse battery trickle chargers. Sled batteries will last 5 years with out ever being trickle charged. Use it al winter and put it away in summer. It will be fine the coming season. Battery damage can result from over charging.

I agree on the chargers. Overnight is all I will ever trust one. If its not charged by then something is wrong.

Was waiting for that someday. Story made it all the way to Canada eh? Lets just say I am glad I am friendly with the Police around here!

Yeah sure has. The police department is a bit of a mockery. We only see one side but still looks pretty bad. Makes for good entertainment though. That boyfriend is pretty creepy. Brother was pretty creepy too. Something just does not smell right.

So picked up a new battery, new optimate charger, new multimeter, and a load tester. Did some testing on the old battery with the load tester and when the load was applied it would run down to 7v and then level out. The voltage would bounce back to 12.3ish within a few seconds. Hopefully the new battery is the fix. Will find out this weekend. Thanks for your help cannondale- ended up taking the battery to 2 yamaha dealers, 1 interstate dealer and a ntb and all 4 said the battery was good
