Madelinot, I also bought a new venture TF and have no snow in sight. Could you please let me (us) know your experience with your sled on Saturday. Would like to hear your likes and dislikes. Thanks

Personally I would never ride without a spare belt on hand. Why take the chance?

I sure will GP292 . i am anxious to try it out and also to compare with others as i know at least 10 persons that have bought new 2016 snowmobile ( i am the only one that bought a Yamaha ) Since this group is all 2 up sleds i was kinda surprised i was the only one that chose the venture . 2 bought Pantera 7000 , 1 Pantera 3000 , 5 Bombardier Grand Touring , 1 Bombardier Renegade 1200 , and 1 Enduro. Not all these people are going saturday but a few are and thats gonna be interesting .

10,000 miles before I changed my belt.......... "BUT" I don't ride without a spare.............MM.:-o

Put 33 km / 19 miles on my new 2016 Venture today in preparation for a longer ride tomorrow. First comments are mixed . It's hard on gas . Sled was down 2 lines and after the ride it took 10 litres / 2 gallons to fill . The other thing i read comments about track noise but didn't know it would be that loud . For the handling and comfort the sled is A1 .

Give the engine some time......loosens up after about 200 miles then really shines after about 800 miles. Snow conditions play a significant role as well.

Track howl......well it's annoying.....is the best way I can put it.

Would like to know if you were driving in sport mode or touring mode.

About 1/2 and 1/2 between Touring and Entry . Did try sport ( that is some peppy ) . Figure once the sled is broke in 80 % will be driven in Touring mode ( if i was 20 it would be sport all the way lol ) and most of the other 20 % will be entry on a homemade trail between the camp and the groomed trails .

Saturday went well we rode 217 km so 130 miles . Likes : handles well, solid on the trail , everyone we met commented on how reliable they are , good on gas and gonna get better figured 18 mpg now . Dislikes ; People drive too fast , my throttle thumb was falling asleep all the time ,wife very nervous over 40 mph .

Overall we are pleased with the machine, it's more now a question of going with people that travel the same speed as us and see snowmobiling as a past time and a time to relax.

We ride with a "HAND" pick group that loves riding about the same speed. (35 / 40.. It beats the heck out of running all over the place and some waiting while others enjoy the view..MM.

Was your thumb really getting numb or were you just joking? If you are serious, you can rotate the position of the throttle block on the bars.

Serious it was getting very numb . Was blaming that on sciatic nerve ( blame everything on sciatic nerve lol ) I will look at moving the throttle a bit . Thanks .

You can move both the bar on the post as well as the throttle block on the bar. I am not familiar with your condition but hopefully you can find a position that's more to your liking. Everything is easy to adjust. Just make sure that everything is snugged back up after you are done with adjusting.
