What's with all the anger and hostility these days. I think he just said that the 1200 Doo motor should have more power than it is producing. Its just the way they designed it. It was their choice to have it that way.
Yes the apex has less CC's but it has more valves, better breathing and probably more RPM and compression. There reaches a point in any motor where you trade off power for reliability. Could the Nitro/Viper motor have more power and stay reliable, probably but until then, put in a turbo.
I'm not angry that's why I sad lol

I agree with most of you guys on here in that yamaha has listened and made many changes this year, New suspension, new x-xtx package especially in vector, little more tech in motors, adding hp, more models and keeping the Apex! Isn't this what you all were asking for? New complete model would be nice...... for sure and I also would like to see someday. Yesterday I rode 180 miles here in Maine on one of the nicest weekend days all year and made some observations: doo hoods up x7, poo x4, cats and yam x2 (2strokers). Sleds on rope x 7...... 3 cats,2 doos and 2 poos! What does that tell ya?Spoke with group of 6 yammers of which 1 apex had hit a deer night before and hit a deer that destroyed his windy, air box, hood, side panel and Gage pod. Lots of tie wraps and duck tape and back riding! Yamaha quality and reliability is still on top. I love my old 2010 apex everytime I ride! 8700 miles and still makes me happy!

If we are going to jump all over everyone with off topic banter, then I will just remove those that are fighting. Move on or move out.

Time to demo a new Ski Doo Renegade Enduro. Plus no new 500. Dissapointed
Now that is funny as the Doo guys are all pissed over the Enduro. Drop the GS and introduce a striped down version that you have to accessorize and can not get all the options the GS had.

Good Point, just getting frustrated at the increasing costs of a new Apex. My 08 LTX will cross 10K miles this weekend and while there is plenty of miles left in it, I'm starting to think of replacing it. Just can't get used to the Viper although I have ridden them several times. My wife's 09 Apex LTX GT will pass 9K miles. 15K plus to replace them x2 is simply too much.

I think the prices are way out of hand... going to push more people out of buying a new sled in all brands.... crazy.

Very true. Why would someone on a budget spend 15K for a new sled when You can buy a really nice sled for anywhere between 5 to 8K depending on the year and miles. These sleds last forever so someone doesn't need a new one. If I had the extra money I'd love a new sled, but I'm having a blast on my 04 Warrior which just rolled over 10 K miles and still runs great. I'm having a great time ridin this sled and I only paid $2500 for it. There doesn't seem to be as many people riding as there used to be and I'm sure the price of new sleds has a lot to do with it.

Yep, that would be me. Rode my 2 stroke Viper up until the beginning of last season when I finally sold it and purchased a nice clean 2007 Attak GT for $4K. Left me with a little extra $$ to put on a nicer track and clutch it. Now I have a really nice 4 stroke. After meeting Nick Keller a few times it gives you the feeling this was a good purchase when you realize how long they last.
