2017 BTX Serious problem

Hello everyone this morning we finally got 6" of snow.. I decide I would do a lap around the yard .. I own a,2017 Sidewinder BTX LE 153 it's My favorite snowmobile to date.
This morning the throttle stuck wide open and I somehow managed to roll it on its side it took off so fricken fast I could even think to hit the kill switch .. it's going to the dealer may need to be inspected by Yamaha. I'm at a loss,I could have been killed or killed someone. Fortunately it's not the case just some cosmetic issues. Most likely throttle linkage is faulty.

Has any of the A/C Thundercats have this problem? Just wondering if its a yammy thing or manufacture, assembly issue?

Haven't heard ..most likely to soon to tell ... it'll become an issue when someone get hurt.

WTF. glad to hear your OK. Someone at Yamaha better seriously look at this. Like mentioned this is the 2nd one that we've heard of on this forum, who knows how many more ticking time bombs might be out there that we don't know about. I don't own a SW but don't they have the TOR like other Yamaha sleds and if so isn't that what that's supposed to prevent. Scary as hell

I love my Yamaha. It's a Machine and we all want them to be a performance monsters .. but we sell want to make it home ..

I don't know if the Sidewinders come with tethers but considering the HP and what is at stake I'd have one and I'd use it.

I mentioned this in a couple posts that this sled should have a tether on....if not factory, then us as consumers should put one on.

Ya,mine is totaled dec. 7th Yamaha said no sign of stuck throttle,and last indicated speed in the ECU was 28 mph,when I hit the tree ejecting me,my yard looked somewhat like yours,only I was shot 22 feet into a tree,and now have concusion,torn MCL and torn ACL and broken knee cap,and Yamaha said I should junk my 17,000 dollar 137 LTX-LE oh but she was able to give me 500 bucks off yet another 2017 LTX-SE I said pound it up your back side,and they cancelled my warrenty,sense I am rebuilding this sled myself.

That's not right get an attorney.. my sled has a tor code so Yamaha is on their way to inspect it ... I'm not expecting gracious apologies.. their just trying cover their #*$&@.. if they do anything im sure it'll include a nds
