2017 Yamaha Viper XTX
I recently purchased a 2017 XTX and I’m looking for some tunnel storage as the bag that’s stock is tight (belt, pump, tools). I purchased a Whiteout technologies adapta link and will use a gas caddy for some spare fuel. I don’t need storage for a multi day trip as I don’t mind wearing a backpack. Really need something big enough for belt, tools, gloves, hat, water and what ever staples are needed . Thanks in advance guys. I’m sure this is a common question.

I have a few of the larger bags that came on ltx models. If you get me a phone number i can send pictures. Some from viper and one from a 17 sidewinder. They tuck in under rear of seat.

Hi, welcome to the site. I also purchased a 2017 XTX and found I wanted more storage than the original tool bag afforded. I carefully drilled out the rivets to remove it, installed new rivets and added this bag in its place. SMA-8JR63-00-00 I was able to fit the original tool bag along with a shovel, snobunje, and more. The semi rigid looks really nice also as cannondale27 mentioned. Here is a link to that bag from Yamaha with the three sizes available. https://www.shopyamaha.com/product/details/medium-tunnel-gear-bag?b=Search&ls=yamaha-motor-company Below are pics of the one I installed. It all comes down to preference. Good luck.

I did buy a bag but don’t thing it will work with the XTX as there isn’t anywhere to attach the forward straps. Unless I’m wrong.

All you need is the plastic nubs to rivet onto the tunnel. They are less than $2 from yamaha. Part number: 8JP-F8423-00-00. 4 required.

I'm surprised yamaha doesn't send them with the bag when selling as an accessory. You will need long rivets. Yamaha number if needed is: 8JP-RA516-00-00

I too just bought a 2017 XTX this year, and I just picked up a PowderKeg 700 Combo at the Syracuse Big East Powersports show over the weekend... Show special price and no shipping, so I had to pull the trigger. Here it is sitting on the tunnel, not installed yet. Lots of room and the option of carrying extra fuel if you want.

Can't see the photo.

Try that... I changed permissions, sorry!

Man o man I fell like I’m really stuck (probably just my OCD). The 141 isn’t as long as I thought it was going to be. I’m stuck between storage and fuel. When I had my Nytro I was always strapped for fuel so I really want to run a fuel caddy but also want the storage option for a Canada trip. Is anyone been running both? is there a significant difference between keeping the fuel right up to the seat opposed to the end of the tunnel. Any pics out there.

Looks very nice. A dry bag, too big for an RT-X.

Hey Ross, look again at my picture above... The PowderKeg is exactly that. The top portion is dry storage, the bottom portion is a 3.25 gallon fuel tank. Check it out in detail: https://powderkegllc.com/shop/yamaha-products/y-700-cm-low-profile-combo-pak/ Fits perfect on a 141.
