I just came across these recent articles that I thought were interesting. The first one is ride impressions of the 2018 Apex 50th. The very first sentence pretty much sums up the future (or lack of future) for the Apex past 2018: http://snowgoer.com/latest-news/2018-yamaha-apex-le-test-ride/24554/
The next article has some information about the recent Textron acquisition of Arctic Cat. Lots of old news to most of us but the last two paragraphs I thought were interesting with some thoughts coming about their plans for Arctic Cat snow products coming directly from a Textron VP: http://snowgoer.com/latest-news/textron-exec-provides-insight-into-arctic-cat-plans/24552/

Maybe I better ride more new models as my "old school" sit down sled is just a lame duck now....

I rode the new Cat chassis and all I found was unless you lean hard it turns no better then the Apex and why does that chassis always kick you forward on bumps til you knees hit the cowl?

I can't sit comfortable on the cat chassis due to my knees are rubbing hard on the cowling. Even more uncomfortable to spread my legs apart around the cowling to get my self under the bars like I can with my apex.
