Having an issue with getting near to 16.5-17lbs of boost. 3 bar map sensor. 240-270-300 tune from hurricane. I took all hoses off last night, examined closely bending them, retightned clamps and found quite a bit of oil before the intake and also in the intercooler. Hoses internally are covered in oil vapour mist and Im wondering if this may potentially cause boost pressure issues seeing the intercooler had about a cup of oil in it with being greasy overall in general.

Havent been out to test yet to see if the cleaning worked, but is there anywhere else I should be looking for that extra 2lbs of boost? 16.6lbs max?

Stock BOV ?
Check exhaust to turbo clamp
Good idea to check all intake boots and trim clamp spacers

Check your charge tubes for splits.

My 2018 with MS16 runs 16.6-16.8 with the stock map sensor and the Turbosmart BOV. I also went through and tightened all the easy clamps.

If you can't find anything, do the boost leak test.

Header? The header tune runs at lower boost. Also, tighten the bolt on the top of the Turbosmart BOV.

Have to do a boost leak test ,you can’t see the leak, soapy water spray.

Tightened up the BOV nipple should help. Also removed the intake boots. Inspected. All in good shape although the clamps came off quite easy with a flat head which leads me to believe there was a leak there too.
Also replaced all clamps except on the manifold with stronger automotive clamps that bite down. Hopefully see what this little bit does. Other than that it’s a boost leak test next. Not much else to examine here considering I had all the hoses off. Bent and examined for a hole, cut etc.

Did a boost leak test. What I found was the one single clamp off the turbo heading to the intercooler didn't have enough clamp down power even using an automotive clamp. Two clamps did the trick.

Here's a theory though. With the low snow conditions we have and very poor groomed trails I dont really have anything to hook up on well and would spin for quite a few feet only letting off in 150 yards. Across a field the boost(at the time) would build slowly and maybe its similar to being up in the air on a stand where the boost pressure isnt prevalent because there isnt actually a load. While spinning there just really isnt as much load as when you actually "hook up" ad maybe also the cause for a low boost scenario as well? This is the first year I can actually see the psi so only those that have seen this could confirm this theory.

We might have 6" of snow here at the most, once again, terrible year.

So what are you seeing it hold for pressure before it slowly leaks down?

Mine will hold roughly 23 lbs before it very slowly creeps down. And that is where my Turbosmart BOV releases

I been cutting one 1 inch off the line going to bov when installing them. I was troubleshooting a sled for boost leak and found that the line is stretched and didn't seal properly! I pressurized the intake and start shaking hoses and shook the line lightly it would piss out! Imo the motor vibration was causing the leak.

good to know. I put an automotive hose clamp on there as well just to make damn sure.

Marc, what are you seeing them hold for pressure?
