2020 SRX
Hey guys my son has a new srx with almost no noise at left side of sled. Our sleds have all sounded like a small diesel without oil (haha) until this one. 17 Rtx ,18 Ltx dx, and 2020 srx. Anyone know what’s been changed if anything?

It's been my experience with two previous 'Winders that the noise from the primary clutch/stub shaft doesn't show up until you've logged a few hundred miles. I hope that this has changed with your son's new SRX, as I've picked up one myself for this season. I haven't heard that Yamaha has made any changes in the clutching this season to remedy the noise.

So far I haven't noticed the annoying noise so far at idle speed, but I'm not getting my hopes up though. I think it's just a matter of time and miles before we can expect to find this guy lurking under the clutch side panel wailing away on his maracas...

I noticed mine was quite also , we will see after the first trip

It gets louder the more miles you put on. The spider buttons and also the rubber in behind start to wear and the noise increases with that extra clearance spider clearance.

I've got 2800km on my 20 and it doesn't seem very loud still. I think my buddys nytro is alot louder.

newbie - 2020 SW never seen snow - extremely loud primary whistle at idle today after I loaded on the trailer. Goosed as I went the ramp. I opened the trailer door with the side panel removed the whole neighborhood heard that sled. It has since stopped but will start it tomorrow. Sled has 0 miles and has not been broken in. Wonder I did something going up the ramp. Never made that noise in my Garage.

The boy went to Indian river last night for a bit of ride. Guess we’ll find out soon.

Belt too tight. Need to remove a shim behind the secondary bolt spacer.

Thanks but the belt not moving I'm at idle but I will keep an eye on it (have a BOP adjuster)

Yes, I get that, but that doesn't mean it can't squeal. Lower the belt into the secondary a little more with the BOP adjuster until it stops squealing.
Most likely if you were to lift the rear of the sled up, the track would want to turn on its own. That is a sign the belt may be too tight.

In addition, when the belt is too tight the sled may not want to shift into reverse properly.

Thanks you will check good info I think I'll give the belt adjuster a full turn to loosen I think it CW is loosen (opposite what you think), I wrote on the adjuster in w/ black marker

Only 75 mi. It’s starting to rattle. Almost had my hopes up.
