I bought that sled 3 seasons ago with 775 miles, so now close to 8k 100% trouble free miles so far there is no need to replace. I will be upgrading my 09 with a 18 XTX when I find one, everyone hanging on to them and if one pops up for sale it is sold right away. I have purchased 5 new Yamaha sleds since switching to Yamaha in 93, will I purchase another new one, maybe not with the way winters are going even if it is all Japan. Picking up a new 2021 Wolverine X4-XTR in April, can actually use that 9 months of the year, and justify the money.
If your ever at one of the TY rides I will have to buy you a beer in the half pint, nothing like Yamaha products to enjoy a beer over it.
This is what I'm trying to say you just admitted to looking for another used Apex that's all fine and dandy i have no problem with that it's your deal. I just would like to know why you need to complain about the new models when you have no intention on buying one. It's not just you there are a handful of guys that have nothing good to say about anything unless it revolves around there retired Apex.

I had a Pro Cross chassis for 2 season, I can say I wont buy another one!
That's great, good for you, I hope you and your Apex have a lot more happy miles together. We will now see who the handful of Apex guys are that are always cutting down the Pro Cross.

So I guess the Venture TF is gone? Only care because at least the front half of the sled was same as my Vectors. You know parts availability!

It's in the utility section. Vector motor and Chris Reid making his annual appearance in the official Yamaha launch video! Good to see CR since his retirement!!

i want those red and white hand guards they show on the website for the srx

Thanks for your reply! I went with a Foremost agent from Michigan recommended on here. Last year and saved $1oo over Foremost through my local Farmers Agent. But this year when renewed was same price. I asked him while renewing. Why do the Powersports Insurance companies go by cc’s. Instead of Horsepower. He agreed and said he had no answer. I pointed out to him that it was cheaper to insure a Sidwinder than my Vectors. So Who do you use? P.S. my independent insurance agent. Who’s Husband used to be a sponsored Arctic Cat dealers son and racer. Had no better answer or terms.

I recently got back from a beautiful snowmobile trip over a two day weekend and I will agree that the newer sleds handle the bumps better at speed, but on nice groomed trails my sled shined and was most comfortable, seen nothing but Ski Doo's everywhere, Cats were second, a few vipers and Winders, and Polaris every now and then, it struck me funny the first morning out up the mountain as where I like to raz you Yamicat pro cross lovers, our pack had to pull over to let one of those big Ski Doo Expeditions go by and be damed if he wasn't pulling a big sleigh with a Winder on it down the hill, owner had to leave the Winder in the woods all night, I heard chain case issues 1500km on the Winder, owner was not happy, guess he didn't get the so called $500 upgrade done after paying $20 grand plus for his sled, my Apex worked just flawless!!

All this makes me wonder what Gerard Karpic Is up to at Yamaha? There must be something in the works?

Gerard Karpic is up to nothing at Yamaha he's no longer employed there.

I think many including myself opt for the sidewinder since it runs so much smoother than the viper. Rode my father in laws 11 vector this weekend and it is silky smooth like a sidewinder compared to the viper. Viper just never had that precision smoothness like every other yamaha 4 stroke sled. Initially I thought it was the driveline/chassis, but when sidewinder came out it quickly eliminated that theory because it ran so smooth just like the apex, vector, nytro models. This year we ran a sidewinder muffler on a viper and it helped smooth and quiet the sled down some more, but still not on level of sidewinder. Only thing left really is the ECU and electronic package, so really hoping if the Viper gets power steering it gets new electronics.
I am a big Apex fan , and a bigger SW fanatic !
When the 2 sleds are idling side by side , the Apex engine is so much smoother and quieter than the SW. IMO
All that being said if I was getting another sled in addition to the SW , it would be an in almost new condition V MAX FOUR !!!!
That's the sled I never had , and still long for .

Just want to know what happened to the programmable throttle? YCCT. That is what Besides EPS got me to convince my Wife to ride. Again. Best feature they came out with for the less experienced riders. Who wanted 4 Strokes. And could not stand. The smell of 2 Strokes. She loved the EPS on the 2012 Apex XTX she test drove. But did not like the handle bar pull. You know the thing Torque. She felt it was going to pull her off the sled.
she needed the soft start primary spring from BOP .
That should fix it .
