2022 Lineup

Far from being a doo guy!

Sure I suppose but if you think a couple of guys on this site that are complaining about it is gonna change anything probably not gonna happen. See that the whole problem here is you need to go to the dealer's with these problems that's the best way to make them aware of there problems. It is pretty difficult to take new a Sidewinder or Viper to the dealer and complain about it if you don't own one. If you go out and buy something and it fails you have every right to complain about it but when you stand in the back row and yell about thing's you never have dealt with it's a cop out in my eyes. Everyone on this site know the small problems these machines have. It's not a deal breaker in my eyes it's all taken care of with some yearly maintenance. Again this is all my opinion and I surely don't want to offend anyone especially the Ski Doo trolls that hang out on Totally Yamaha.
So you think I am a doo troll? How many miles you have logged on your Yamaha sleds?

True, but you can let them complain or when will Yamaha fix the issues?
Complaining? I would like to think that I’m begging for the fix. How long has the winder been out? I guess I’m asking for to much, old school I am in wanting the trusted liability we have become accustomed to! I have been riding for 50 years. On Yamaha since 1982 did all my own maintenance with tech advice from this site and my dealer of 40 years! With the comments you have all given me I realize that the sport has passed me by, it’s time to hang up the ski’s. Thanks to TY for all the help through the years.

No problem buddy ;)! I don't think time has just passed you by, probably spun you around a complete 360

I dont think you will see a "fix" from Yamaha. Just a updated part or "improved" piece. Coming out with a "fix" is admitting a problem.
They "improved" the loctite on the roller screws last year.
In reality it is not a deal breaker for me. It should be dealt with by the manufacture but the other options for me, other manufacture, older iron, are not inviting.
Plus, it doesn't take much to fix.

Farmer 73, hats off to you, with the amount of miles and years you have put on running pure Yamaha sleds you are certainly a "True Blue" and have earned the right to ask or question the reliability and if the problems have been fixed before laying 20 grand down of your hard earned Dollars on a Winder, I think the some of the comments you received were disrespectful and on called for, the sport has not passed you by, you are just dealing with sensitive Cat lovers now, I hope these comments did not influence you to hang up your ski's, we need more old school value's.

Totally agree with ya 20/80 he probably has a lot of input on the Nytro and Vector section of this site.

Since 2005 I have owned 9 Yamahas, 5 new. 3 deltabox, 3 Yamaha/cat , 1 newer Phazer, 1 trailing arm, 1 vmaxx4.
Dont let the comments of some steer you away from a new one.
Dont worry about the new sleds. The problems are just different than the old ones. The old ones have their own set of issues, and anyone who says they dont is lying.
You will happy with much improved ride and handling. It makes the riding experience that much better. and easier on older bones too.
I am eagerly awaiting my 2022!!!!

Yes he sure does, and what the heck was he thinking to ask or question anything about the winder.

Well if he got any Sidewinder questions you are definitely the guy to go to. With all your experience over the years your the kinda guy we need on this site Thanks you for all of your help and insite.

Anybody hear anything on the upper gear bushing and drive shaft bearing issues being fixed? It's the difference if I will buy or not. I know about all the fixes and the success everybody is having, but should we really have to be doing those fixes to brand new sleds as customers?

I'd actually still like to know if anyone knows the answer to this. I've got 2 22's on order, and would like to know which "fixes" are still needed/recommended :)
