2022 Preorder build dates/delivery dates

I think most owners like when Yamaha's were built in Japan. Most of the posts on this forum are addressing problems with Yamaha's since the partnership with Arctic Cat. The engineers are not listening to this forum as there is a list of 20 items that even current 2022 Sidewinders need to be addressed by riders out of the crate. What happened to the days when you could buy a Yamaha, follow the recommended maintenance schedule in the manual, replace a few wear parts that were readily accessible in three days or less and ride without worrying about 20 plus issues stranding a rider
This is blue sky thinking. The Japan built sleds had just as many issues. Just look back at the old posts.
front end bushings
hyfax wear
EXUP cables
header pipes
header pipe gaskets
poor handwarmers/thumb warmers
timing chain adjusters
frozen relays
cracked w-arms
blah, blah blah
they ALL have some kind of issues. It is forums like this that make it easy for all of us to share those issue and find fixes for them quickly.

In reality, it was like that with my 2010 Phazer, which was built in Japan. A reverse issue requiring a shim to be added to the stock clutch, loose steering issues after 1000KM requiring disassembly of the front of the sled, and aftermarket parts be installed to resolve the dangerous play that resulted from cheap factory bushings. I know these sleds were built to a price point so some of this should be expected. It's the quality of the fit and finish that is paramount in my books, I am hoping that selling my "made in Japan" sleds for a YamaCat wasn't a mistake. I am willing to wait for what I hope is an excellent ride, design flaws excepted.
I wouldn't think twice. The newer sleds ride and handle so much better than the old ones you will forget about them.
Ask me, I know, I had most of them. I Wouldn't trade my Sidewinder for any of the Rx-1's, Apex's, Phasers, Nytro's or Rages I owned. They worked well in the day but it's a new, and better day.

you have a point, but from my experience Yamaha has stood behind every warranty issue I have had..100% I'm addressing the few problems such as oil leaks and skis with real solutions and it's not a hard fix. I really like my Sidewinder, so much better than the RS Venture Japan built sled I used to have...Joe

Another thing is that any sled delivered way late in the riding season means that the 1st year of warranty is pretty much already gone maybe even before putting on miles

Hope it worked
