- 2025 Riot 9000
I understand this a Yamaha forum but just looking for answers,
I have a 2025 Riot 9000, Hurricane 240/270/300. Code P1236 two weeks ago after riding for a while on a cold day went into limp mode wouldn’t let me go over 6200 rpm. I kept riding code went away but getting a popping noise like it’s bouncing the rev limiter at around 7k rpm. Boost psi stuck at 4.0 no matter what. Brought to dealer and said all was fine and did boost leak test no leak. Tried the sled again today, no code but everytime I pin the throttle hard it pops like it’s backfiring, boost pressure on the gauge also isn’t changing and staying at .2lbs. Any advice?

Things to check:
-if you haven't already...get it in a warm place and thaw it out completely
-check for water in solenoid hoses
- boost tubes split or off completely...check the one that hooks to the turbo
- hose or connection has come off of map sensor
-and IMO most likely...you need a new Map Sensor....make sure you get one matched to your tune 2 or 3 or 4 bar sensor they are tune specific
- check that the turbo is not seized...unlikely and hopefully not the issue
-also don't hesitate calling the tune vendor I know Dave at Hurricane is extremely helpful with his tunes.
