I think the Yamaha versions of the Procross, especially the SRX, where the best looking sleds on snow.Cat over the years has really done a nice job with colors and graphics .. Like best in the biz hands down.
The 2025 T-Cat and ZR 9000 DO look good.
The new 858 R-XC should be a weapon.

The red Riot from last year was sharp too. How's that little catalyst chassis going to feel with 30+ more hp?That orange RIOT is tight! Cat over the years has really done a nice job with colors and graphics .. Like best in the biz hands down.. Going back to the 90's even they always had the best eye catching colors.. Maybe im bias? they really nailed it in 2025 for sure! I got to rip the RXC catty around a little.. Nice trail ripper for sure.. Its got a little growl to it also.. Sounds pretty bad #*$&@ when you get into some..

I like the Cat sleds that are mostly black with some green thrown in.
I really dislike all the other color schemes especially purple and orange....yuk!

2024 Catalyst RXC
2017 Sidewinder LTX-SE. 11750 miles (SOLD)
Maybe in person?I don’t love the shade of orange on the 9000. I wish it were the orange color they used on the 2024 Catalyst Riot. I really like that color.
I only ripped it around the neighborhood some(unstudded). Managed to make a nice long trench in the front yard!! . Not a true indicator, but if I was to guess the 858 is going to be pretty bad #*$&@. The feel of the 600 is real snappy and the sound is top notch.. Put a bunch of clutching into already.. LOL.. Heavy hitters, clutch cover from precision, light weight hardware from BDX(primary and boss secondary).. And a speedwerx primary spring.. Same as the stock spring(numbers) just a speedwerx one.. The stock cover on the adapt is laughable.. Probably OKAY with the 600 power level but no way would I run it anything more power. The stock cover is super light and not seeing much tower support.. Studs are in now and windshield getting plasti dipped.. Got 2 other goodies coming yet.. I REALLY like this catalyst..The red Riot from last year was sharp too. How's that little catalyst chassis going to feel with 30+ more hp?

Looking at the Catalyst 146 Riot 600 yesterday the layout and space under hood is exceptional and appears that working on and getting to the work is far better than all other newer sleds.. There are so many improvements its very impressive…I like the design and your looking at sled of the year no doubt … Great job Cat……

Agreed, very clean, just not quite enough space for the motor we love.

The 600 made the same power they did 20 years ago.
They need a 4 stroke
I need some more time on a catalyst but I can say at 6’2’’ it’ feels small in comparison to the procross and the competition.
The fit and finish is the best they have ever had I agree!!

They're claiming the 858 as 165 hp machine, just like they do the current 800.

Its 858 power at less than 600 weight. That is the important part, that will make it the lightest 800 class machine out there. They're claiming the 858 as 165 hp machine, just like they do the current 800.

The question is... where is it going to come from. The current 4 stroke mills in the cat SxS arsenal seem to be pretty anemic.

Hard to say but they and Polaris both need a 4 stroke turbo to compete with skidoo.
I am working on a 600 in the next few days and will get more time with it.

Hopefully they don't clone the Suzuki twin...the sound is unbearable.

If they opt for a twin, they should use the firing layout like the Yamaha Phazer has, which is now common in many paralell twin engines, the Polaris 850 ATV another example. Sounds very similar to V-twin.Hopefully they don't clone the Suzuki twin...the sound is unbearable.
I'd prefer to see a triple however, or a V-four.

I agree about the sound, but the darn thing was bullet proof tho.Hopefully they don't clone the Suzuki twin...the sound is unbearable.

Parallel twins are becoming very popular in sxs. Whatever they use will likely also replace the engine in the wildcat XX.
I would be fine with a turbocharged parallel twin if it means it comes in a package with great ergonomics and a low COG.

Uggggg. I HATED that 1100 Cat/Suzuki twin. Yes, it made decent power, but has been said it sounded like a sick lawnmower. Twins sound like crap no matter the firing order. Harley sound like crap too! Four cylinders are where its at, especially Yamaha four cylinder engines with cushioned PTO shafts! Two-strokes or Four strokes! Bring back a turbo Apex engine Cat in a modified Catalyst!
The hand writing is on the wall with Doo, they have ousted the 900 and gone to a 999, and it comes stock right now with 240 HP in a SxS, it's just a matter of time before it trickles down to the sled, hopefully it a better platform than the 900 was, and I think I'd be happy with that when it come down to it. Granted the Doo doesn't handle like the Cat and its got a poor front end, but maybe it's time for me to slow down anyway. In the mean time, I'll have plenty of years ahead of me to go fast on my new 23 LTX-LE with 300 or so HP.... LOL...
