Hey Guys,
I am planning on buying as Phazer soon and I will have $2500 to do mods..I am looking for a good reliable trailable torquey low-mid power increase, but simply can't afford $4000+ for a turbo/supercharger..What kind of power increase can you get for $2500? All info appreciated Thanks! :yam:

I like the chassis of the Phazer. I have never seen the Nytro in person, but it just looks bigger and bulkier..I am buying a used Phazer for ALOT cheaper than a Nytro, even with the $2500 added..I would like the turbo, but its $4000 and I plan to have around half that to spend. How does a turbo phazer compare to a Nytro powerband wise? :yam:

they make about the same amount of peak hp and the phazer spins to nearly 12k to do it. From my experience with auto engines the turbo will have much worse throttle response, but when it does hit it will slam you. I would think the nytro would have a very broad torque curve and its just there, no turbo lag. Not sure which would hit harder since with clutching you can have both engines in their powerband

The phazer turbo is dynoed to 142 hp at 11.5 psi and 155 hp at 13 psi. The Nytro has 130 hp and a little extra weight. So the Nytro will be left behind in a long pull.

Turbo phazer has 15 more HP than FX Nytro at sea level and increasingly more as you gain elevation. NA's lose 3% HP per 1000ft gain. Lag's not an issue, as it's already boosting when the clutch begins to engage. Partial throttle/low speed boondocking response is reported as mellow. FX Nytro, contrary to what Yami or anyone says will be a good 40-50 lbs heavier than phazer fully fueled

Regarding money.....:

I paid $ 14.600 for my FX, and the total cost now after turbo and track work is $ 24.000 (NOK 155.000). So that's the price level in Norway :o|
I could have bought a new small car for that price...

That includes the turbokit + clutch kit + installation, track, rail extensions + modification, 8" wheels, anti-ratchet drivers, electric fan, mountain skis, large windshield, spare belt, 20 tooth gear and some other stuff :tg:

And WE have a hard time throwing 12 grand at a sled! It took a long time for you to finish your sled, teerex. You must be super stoked now!

Well I got the sled the first week this year, and I wanted to do some driving before getting the turbo on, and first I did the track extension job. Then it took some time for the clutch kit to arrive, but everything was ready two weeks ago. On my first turbo trip I fell off the sled and got a little hurt in my ribs (I discovered that the next day...), so no driving last weekend (AAARGH). It was so damn fast up the hills  But hopefully I'll be ready for a sunday trip.

Some numbers:

Average income in Norway is about $ 45-50.000. Income tax is around 35-40 %, and all "hardware" has 25% VAT.

Actually the $ value has dropped lately, so I have to adjust my numbers up to $ 25.000 for my sled....
:-o

Just had to google the super stoked thing :tg: OK I think I know what you mean. I am super stoked yes indeed. But have been super depressed the last week because I couldn't use the sled because of my ribs... and I didn't have any spare ribs :o|

See? Web surfing is educational, not a waste of time! So, you finally got her going, then went down a couple of weeks later? Lame. How much winter do you guys have left this year?
