just got back from the UP. First ride ever that went without any problems and everything worked (except display on left side and 1 blown belt with 1135 miles on it.).
Now that I am through the 2nd brake in on the new motor, high flow fuel pump and boost switch installed I got 440 miles in a day and a half. I rode Friday night 190 miles with her on 6# settings and she is great with about a foot of ski lift out to 90 mph and really snappy off the line. Saturday was clear and sunny so it was time to step up the game. Switched it to 9#'s and took off.
Hauck changed the helix out when we re clutched it and let me tell you on a long straight away she lifts the skis a foot on launch in less the 2 seconds passing 40 mph she hits the steep ramp on the helix and the exhaust note changes and you can hear the air suck into the intake (with a deep throated growl) the nose starts to rise. If I stay in it on hard pack snow she goes to about 3' off the ground and you have to ride looking down the side of the body to see the trail. The only way to stay on it is to pull up into the stirrups with my feet at 80 it starts to drop the nose and at 104, the last time it finally set the skis on the ground.
I cannot believe it took 3 months to get here and now the snow is going away fast. I need another month PLEASE or may have to head out west!!!
and to think I can go another 2#'s to 11 the way it is setup now.
I pulled up behind a group of 5 on the trail to Hurley. The rear sled was all over the place and had been riding on the left side of the trail and darting back and forth. He had mirrors and in 5 miles never looked in them once. I finally had enough, we hit the long straight away that is almost 4 lanes wide, he darted right I stuck my nose in blew my horn (it is loud) nailed it and passed the entire group with the skis in the air.

What clutching are you running? I am having a hell of a time getting this thing off the limiter from a hard hole shot take off. It bangs once and then goes. I have everything else set great and top rpm at 9000. Thinking about loosening my wrap from 6/3 to 6/2 and seeing if that helps at all.

Well Hauck set it up and had to change out his normal clutch kit arms to heavier ones that have 3 or 4 holes for screw in weights cause he could not load it heavy enough with his standard arms. I am still not there because on Saturday it started banging the rev limiter bad but only once the clutches achieved full shift out so I had to feather the throttle at 9#'s at 6#'s you can pin it and it runs all the way to 107 mph at 8750. At 9'#'s it goes to 9100 and creeps up to the limiter at just over 9200.
I am going to pull it tonight and find out exactly what is in it and add to it.

Instead of changing the the degree! try changing the helix all together. That's what I did and it worked really good. Still a little short of 8900, but close for me.

We went with bigger rollers, new springs and RX-1 helix. Not done yet, but the thing really hammers low end and mid-range. Much happier now feeling the power closer to where I want it
