that one in the pic looks like it might have a seized wrist pin to break the rod in 1/2 like that. has anyone torn one down to see the cause? i know one of my uncles did that with a 340 enticer engine that seized the wrist pin. looked pretty similar.

Riding slow. Ha. Pre slow is the question. Probably abuse and low antifreeze or low oil.

Possible for sure! In any case, got the 1049 in and it all works!! Thanks to Jim Henzel spa city parts, for everything needed, and a nytro gauge pod as the 08 won't work with the injected motor.that one in the pic looks like it might have a seized wrist pin to break the rod in 1/2 like that. has anyone torn one down to see the cause? i know one of my uncles did that with a 340 enticer engine that seized the wrist pin. looked pretty similar.

It's been run, not abused...he doesn't let grass grow, but coolant and oil was good. It's better now with the injected 1049 anyway.Riding slow. Ha. Pre slow is the question. Probably abuse and low antifreeze or low oil.

Just wondering if the sled was stored for any length of time maybe missed a couple seasons in a row?

How did you manage to have a new fuel injected engine installed so quickly? I thought it just blew up on Monday?

He got it from Pa. maybe 5 years ago, with 2000 miles on it...so not a lot of miles for an 08. We have had crappy winters but he managed to put the other 6000+ on since then.Just wondering if the sled was stored for any length of time maybe missed a couple seasons in a row?

It broke Sunday, he tore it apart Monday and had an 06 nytro with a bad starter so was going to put that in. I called Jim Henzel, spa city parts, and looked to see what Travis had in stock....well, Jim had a 2012 he just got in and the price was great for everything needed....we had it in and running yesterday. Today we did a wrp tall seat. Didn't have a compatible gauge pod as someone bought the oem 12 vector pod so it now has a nytro digital pod....!! Unique sled for sure! How did you manage to have a new fuel injected engine installed so quickly? I thought it just blew up on Monday?
Not sure how to attach a video but this is when we first fired it up yesterday. Had a code 21 but forgot to plug in the coolant plug. The wiring harness is now on the clutch side of the engine when before with the carbed 973 it was on the right. But we got it..even the single switch hand/thumb warmer, and throttle block had to be changed.
