First question as I have no experience with the 911 cover; is it worth putting on and does the belt/sheave alignment work?

Big Venom question; 220 pounds of rider on a 1.6 lug 137, 26/50 gearing with 144 studs running down the center. Top speed in perfect conditions is 90. On hard pack trails at about 20 degrees F, recently top speed of 83 turning 8800 RPMs. What weight setup would be ideal to maximize midrange and top end? My first thought is that with the 1.6 and 144 studs it just isn't making enough power to get to that magical 9100 RPM mark. Intake work and exhaust might be a really good answer. Gearing at 22/45 and a 1.35 track might be a good answer. Any thoughts?

What belt are you using? I recently ran the gauntlet of belts on mine. Gates 8JP turned 400rpm less than the 8JP and the 8DN currently on my sled is 100rpm less than the 8JP. All 3 had around the same top speed once adjusted to turn ~9000rpm. I wouldn’t gear up any higher, I actually went against the grain and geared down and still can get past the century mark on a plowed road, low 90’s on the trails. I have the LTX gearset on my XTX, 98mph 1:1 ratio instead of the stock 105 1:1 ratio. Airbox mod and Can gave me 200-300rpm what ever that is powerwise.
