Big venom clutch adjustment

I recently installed the big venom clutch kit on my 2014 viper LTX dx (studs otherwise stock). Pretty impressed with the top speed. Had it up to 102 on an ice covered lake (I forgot to look at RPM). I noticed the clutches and belt seemed quite hot (around 140-160F) after a 10 seconds at 100MPH on the lake. Are these temps normal and nothing to worry about?

I marked the primary with a sharpie and noticed the clutch has about 3/8" of area that isnt being used. I thought of maybe removing those glide washers or adding some weight to the tips to get it to shift out fully.

Stock gears will hit 1:1 ratio at 105mph so your not going to use all the clutch sheave unless you get it all the way up to .9 overdrive @ ~115mph and these sleds don’t like being pushed into OD for some reason. Some guys, mainly turbo, have swapped for XTX gears which gets you to around 112 before you hit 1:1 ratio.

Good to know! I dont want to make this sled less reliable. 102 is plenty fast for me. I should mention that the day I measured those temps I was out for over an hour (the engine was steady in the 190's). I suppose eventually the clutches and belt will get up to similar temp after a period of time. Those temps had me slightly concerned since my apex clutches were never that hot. Was thinking of modifying the panel to get more air moving. Apparently that can also help with the hot start issues im also having.
