I've kept my eyes out for a while but haven't seen anyone making any a arm guards for the nytro's. I've often thought about making some out of aluminium but haven't taken the time to draw it out and make a template. My thinking was that it might help keep some of the snow from getting in around the boots on the tie rods.
Just thought I'd ask and see if there was anything out there.

Don't think it will stop any snow from getting into those places, just another place for it to build up. It would be good for paint and stone chip protection and the odd rock or stump.

Thanks guys, I think in the past I've seen the yamaha ones maybe in the accessories book It's hard to tell from the pic though if they come up infront of the a arm to help keep snow out or not though. Do they have a lip that comes up infront of it or is it just a bottom cover?
The muffinworks ones look a little more along the lines of what I was thinking about making. Always pondered about the arc the a arms make though and how it may affect how tall you could go with the front lip before it started to hit the plastic. They do pull away a certain amount as the shock compresses but I would imagine there is a limit.
Thanks
Ryan

Muffinworks Protectors
I do have a set of these on my xtx...mainly installed them to help in floatation and add an additional protection to the a-arms. From what I've experienced these last two seasons is that the snow build up seems to be kept to a minimum although its always wise to keep an eye on the formation of ice within the confines of the front end...likes to build up close to the area where the arms bolt onto the frame.
The fit and finish of the protectors are really not bad but the thickness (or lack of it) of the metal doesn't really impress me...should be thicker in my opinion...not much protection in that area. The forward portion of the plate does not extend beyond the upper radius of the arm...close to even or flush. Like I said...its there for floatation, fills the void and gives a tad bit of protection and the cost isn't a deal breaker (at least two years ago!!) Hope this helps

I have the muffinworks ones on my XTX. Basically help float and protect the factory paint from chips and scratches. They do hold snow on top but it has not been an issue at all.

Thanks for the replies and links guys. Will definitely take it all into consideration. I may be dreaming in hopes of stoping the snow buildup but would like to try something. Will post if I come up with something that I think will work. Or if I try one of the ones posted here.
Thanks
