Port-Parts said:FYI- Yamaha Phazer and FX Nytro A-Arm guards are not the same. They list two different part numbers for A-Arm guards for those models - The Phazer uses an 8GC style and the FX Nytro uses an 8GL style. So if you are trying to mount Yamaha accessory Phazer guards on a FX Nytro they will not fit.
Nope, I didn't order the Phazer protectors I bought the Nytro ones, part # SMA-8GL91-00-BK. I'll verify what part # is on the bag when I get home. One reason I prefer the yamaha protectors is because they cover the swaybars.

Thanks Chris, that is what I was going to do, just wanted to give you a heads up for future production runs of the part. Also, if you want another tip, the 6mm bolts are 1/4" too short. I quickly gave up trying to fight with the clamps, ran to the hardware store and bought some 1/4-20x 1" bolts. Much easier to mount. And while I was there, I noticed they carry the exact same stainless steel mounting clamps with the rubber moulding. Nice to know in case one ever craps out or you want to add a 4th one to the front of the lower a-arm. Here's how they look.

I am a little confused by these posts. Since I am thinking of buying the Yamaha a-arm protectors, do they fit the Nytro without any modifications or don't they??? Thanks.

I also bought longer 6mm bolts and mounted my Yamaha Nytro a-arm protectors. Tighten them up, wait one week, and replace them with the original short ones that came with the protectors and they will go in fine. I did not like the longer ones sticking up so high.
