I just wanted to send out a big thank you to everyone here at totallyamaha for all the great resources and information you guys have here. This is by far the best and most receptive snowmobile forum I've ever been a part of. The reason for this post is because my brother got into a crash with my 2008 phazer and totaled it (he's alright thankfully). As a result I have decided to give one of the new polaris sleds a try for next season (Switchback Assault 800). It was a close call between the Nytro xtx and the SB but I am kind of interested in how the new 2 strokes run and would like to try a nice and light machine.

This is the first sled I've ever owned that wasn't a yamaha and the first 2 stroke since my old vmax 600. I'll be keeping a close eye on what yamaha brings to the table in the next couple of years and hope I will be riding blue again in the future. I'll still be lingering around on the forums every now and then as the opinions and knowledge here are some of the best regardless of brand.

Thanks again everyone! Hopefully Yamaha will build something in the next couple of years that will draw me back into the fold!

Take care,

My sentiments exactly! Love this site! Too bad you're switching brands. Stopdropanroll is also jumping . I'm waiting for the spring show before deciding whether I'm also jumping back to the green side.
Sure glad Yamaha saved all that money by not retooling a new sled. :o| Just for the record, I haven't spent as much cash on my last 5 sleds as I have on my Nytro.
Have a good summer boys, hope I'm with ya in the fall. LaLaLa

I wish you luck with the new 2 stroke.

Glad your brother was alright, and good luck with your new sled. I traded my Yamaha mid season. Still have a Yamaha bike, quad, generator and scooter though.

Probally by 2014 we can get a new Apex ! 160 hp and one that the handwarmers work! Maybe the skid won't need to be rebuilt either, and maybe it won't dart! Nah to much to ask for maybe? time will tell. Heres to hopefull thoughts.

Wish you all the best with your new purchase. How you posted it seems you have alot of respect for this site and I hope you get the best polaris that comes off the line.

HEY give us some updates next year after you ride, they will be respected and appreciated.

thanks to all TYers

Unfortunately, i believe this type of post will become commonplace over the next year or two. If the fever hits me just right on a good day this summer I may be riding a White XF Turbo next year.....we'll see.

as a old polaris guy if i have switched brand it will probably be a polaris but the fst getting old the 600 is not enought and i just can't trust the 800 reliabilty i dont want to change my sled every year or 5000 miles so i stay with yamaha they never let me down in a trail.

great sled been going to dealer here and sitting on one and really thinkin about it rode polaris for a long time just may be back one love that sled

Nice post! I 've learned a ton from the people here and thank you all! I too am leaning towards a different manufacturer and I worry that their site will not have as much good info or good people on it. In fact, I've already been on it and its not as good!!!! But its not too bad either. And, I'll still have my Yamaha and will always be lurking!!

Thanks for all the well wishes guys! This is a testament to how great this site really is.

Yamadoo - I'll be sure to post my thoughts on the polaris next season good or bad.

Thanks
