Well I have been tring to work on my sled in the fall to avoid the early season rides where I lack the self control to stay on the road.
I put new bushings in and painted all front a-arms and while it was out and apart I polished the steering knuckles, but after replacing a bent one I dont think I will do it again. ( we will see). Bend too easy and a bit of work to make em shine. I replaced a few bolts as well in the lower a arms ( Bent as well). In an adjustment and inspection of the steering parts I found a cracked steering mount and broke in half top round aluminim bar. all welded and fishplated. ( did not have cam with me so not pics there)
A pic of last years drop brackes with tapered allen head bolts (not carrage bolts to mount it) so far works great.
As I am still thinking it is too loud so I rebuilt a White Broz exhust I had sitting around for my bike ( went to a FMF Q). I pulled the guts and repacked the core and built a new core that is bigger closer to a full 2 inch rather than 1 1/2. Polished and reassembled. Have not started yet (is killing me as I want to hear it have to get some fuel tomorrow)
Looks like it is ready t test and RIDE

That looks sweeet. hey where did you get the dash and headlight replacement or did you build it. I just bought and 03 Turbo mtn and want to get rid of all the stuff that breaks.

Thanks

Yamadog

Well most of it was done when I bought it. I added a clock / temp and moved my boost and Wide band gages then the windshield hit so I bent it up with the help of some heat. still looking for a better setup there. The light is just a small dude but puts out good light . I could look for brand info if interested.

if you get a chance. I am running the stock headlight with a a cut down windshield and no dash or wings but it looks stumpy.

Well I looked and dont see anything at all on it as far as marking. even unscrewed and looked under. Looks like a PIAA ? They are spendy but put out great light. I will add some closer pics. Sorry I could not be more help

Well thats ok thanks for trying. Maybe you can anwer another question. I bought this thing - 03 rx mtn with a turbo. I was told it was a Bender stage 1. there are no markings or labels on the inter cooler. there is a switch on the gas cover like a vaccuum switch hooked to a hose he told me that it goes from 4 lbs to 6 lbs of boost. And he said it runs on straight pump gas.

I have looked everywhere I can think and the install booklet for Bender shows the stage II to have a boost controller and says to run 93 on 4 and 103 on 6 lbs any thoughts.

Sounds like the same as mine, I was told it is a sage 1. I dont know if it a 1 or a 2 but I turned up my waste gate and run 6lbs on low and 13 on high. run 92 non ethonal, have run 50/50 with 100LL and 92 but did not seem to make a difference. going on my third year with it. do a search on here for benders and see what you come up with. I do have low comp pistons as well. Any motor mods besides the turbo?

I have no Idea on engine mods I think it was a stock motor and they threw the bender on it. It is pretty zippy but I only rode it in the yard.

The Turbo only has 400 miles on it and 1500 total on the motor. The 1st owner bought it new rode it 2 times out west and then put the turbo on and never went out with it again. The 2nd owner had it for 2 yrs in his garage and only rode it 2 weekends up in northern MN on trails and logging roads.

The thing was kept outside with no cover and also must have been in a body shop the body is crap and the entire thing is covered in paint overspray that will not come off. I have a complete set of blue body work I put on it and a new set of Simmons Gen II 10" wide skis. Shocks off an 05 RX and a 13mm sway bar. I am going to use it as a boondocker in the UP I just want to have some fun off trail.

It has a Mountain performance seat on it (again covered in gray overspray) and the steering has been moved forward and the gauges lacated in the old steering shaft hole. Its seems like a good start and I will see where I want to go from here with it. I got it cheaper than I could buy a used turbo for so if it doesn't work out I am putting the turbo on my 05 shorty and sell the mountain.

Sounds like you have something good to work with, just some cosmitic stuff. Some guys add 2-3 head gaskets to lower the compression and then up the boost. Im sure you have heard it before but its true
" Boost is highly addictive" and will make you want more.

Oh im all about boost. Im gonna try it this weekend in this dump and then decise if I want to spend time or money on it. I got the skis on last night WOW are they fat Gen II's seem like they almost touch in the middle.
