Oh, while I had my sled in the garage I decided to pull the chain case cover the change the oil and check everything out. To my suprise I found that the nut that holds the top hear in place was loose and just spining around the shaft, you would think that there would be some type of locking device to hold it in place. So my questions are as follows:

1. What size is the nut, it looks like 36mm but I don't have a socket that size so I would just like to verify.
2. Would have expected a dealer who said he sent through and serviced the slead to have found this, just want to find peoples expectations before I make a phone call.
3. Is their a good way to prevent this from happening again.
4. Does anyone have the a copy of the assembly page for the assembly order for the top of the gears and brake roater assembly.

Thanks

Thanks for the link it was very useful. Just one other question, for now anyways, what socket are you guys using for that nut anyways. Anyone know the exact size, it looks like I am going to need a 36mm 4 inch deep socket.

Thanks again for the link.

1. It's a 36 mm nut.
2. Dealer will drain the chaincase thru the drain at the bottom, bolt is found inside the tunnel. Your dealer will change the oil and check chain tension. He will not open the chaincase cover.
3. Tork down the nut to spec: 90 Nm or 65 ft-lb.
4. PM me your email address and I will send you the RX-1 Service Manual.

I would like to thank everyone who helped with this issue. I got the chain case back togeather. The old man was looking for something to do so I got him get a normally 36mm socket and a 1 1/8 deep socket, he cut the end of the 36mm out and welded the 1 1/8 on the end, worked like a charm, plus it only cost 11 bucks.

The only other issue is I hate this site, it is just chewing up all my free time, lots of good info on here. Actually this is one of the best forums that I belong to and I would like to send out a special thank you to the people who operate and contribute to it.

Again thanks.

You are most welcome. Also, ... Intersting approach on the socket. Gald to know someone else makes thier own tools up. Couldn't help on the torque value. Tech Manual was in the Nord country for the week.

Cool father you have - making special tools for you :-)

I bought a 36 mm ring/open end spanner to do the job, man that tools was heavy, large and expansive - more than 10 times the tool your old man made up for you.

Did you get the service manual I sent you?
