I was just wondering if I should start charging towing service? I am a lonely Yamaha FX Nitro in a Sea of Yellow. All my buds except me Bleed yellow and in the last month I have towed (3) differant Doo's. Here we go... My buds 06 P-tech 800 gade w/ 2000 miles crank bearing went grenaded whole motor. Luckily he was in an open field when he went sideways. $2300.00 for new motor towed for approx 3 miles to road. Another bud w/04 600 Ho rev ran out of gas towed for approx 5 miles to gas station and yesterday I saw it all. While having a great ride with my bud Chris w/ his 07 600SDI gade was coming around a corner approx 35 - 40 mph when his motor seized and it caused the sled to lose control right into a stump he went. Up and over the handlebars onto the stump hurting him pretty bad. The sled looks like it is totaled everything is tweeked, but that isn't my concern. A couple of times we were motivating down some rail road beds. (What would have happened if his sled would have grenaded W.O.T.) He probably would be in serious condition to possibly dead. When a motor grenades the cluches act like you hitting the break hard and the sled will go sideways to out of control. We went to the dealer and they basically said DOO you have insurance and luckily he does, but when a motor grenades w/ out any warning under warranty and you possibly total a sled due to this. It sucks that you have to claim it on insurance when it is the brands fault. Thank god I ride YAMAHA's!!!!! Totally reliable and pretty much bullet proof. I guess I can deal with poorly heated hand grips.
word to the wise stay safe and carry a rope if you are in a Sea of Yellow. Oh by the way they will be switching to Yamaha soon. LOL

I towed a 96 Mach Z with a 320 pound rider up a steep hill with out even slipping the track or breaking a sweat. They do make great tow vehicles.
and they ride like a mack truck too.

i've towed a doo this year too once, and i've been towed, cause of my own inability to install an oil filter properly.
