Just curious how it gets done with the Nytro. I know a lot of guys that are constantly worrying about overheating their machines especially in the absence of powder. I've run on 0 degree (C) days pinned for extended periods of time without problem, but I do notice some warm air making it's way back to my feet. I'm told the four strokes generally run cooler and have radiators, so its not an issue but I wanted to take the question to the people I trust in this area.
I only have a problem riding slow with the kids on warmer days with low snow. Soon as I get up to speed enough sir gets to the rad and temp light goes off.

The only time my light comes on is when I get snow packed up between the heat exchanger, and the front of the track. Anybody ever have this problem?
And are you guys checking to see if that is the reason why your light is coming on?

That's when I get it packed up there too. Mostly real cold days . My sled never over heats . And when it does the snow is packed up there.

I just got this 2008 Nytro FX10 and have only put 300 miles on it so far, it had 336 when I got it a month ago. I have had no temp lights on.
Do I really need to install the tunnel heat exchanger? If I do I would like to wait until the season is over and do a few other things too like a IP vent.

I just installed a manual over ride switch on mine so that when I see the temp rising higher than I want (aftermarket temp gauge installed) I just turn on the fan to bring it back down.

The temp light comes on way before it is actually too hot so gives you ample time to hit snow or shut it off. I put a set of scratchers on and they do the trick whenever my light comes on. It's only when I'm riding on a real cold morning and I'm not pulling enough snow into the tunnel that I need them.

It really comes down to conditions. I have been out on some really hot days where the snow is wet and had no problems. Those aren't good days to let the sled idle though.
I have been out in -20 C on hard packed trails and the light has come on. Scratchers definitely help big time and save some wear and tear on the sliders.

I did some testing today with my dual fan setup. Had my two year old so we cruised around on hard packed trails for 25 min at 15-20 mph. Ambient air around 40. Snow was wet...so no dust. Fans were running but no overheat light.

I put some Dura Flex scratchers on, If my light comes on(which it will) drop the scratchers and 100ft later its off.. I got them for like $65 on Amazon with free shipping.

I have ice scratchers. They don't help when the front cooler is packed with snow.are you guys tipping your sled on it's right side and checking to see if it's packed with snow .????

Sprint, I dont, I think with my larger lug track my issue is snow being swept off not packing in.

I don't tip 'em, stock tracks.
Hard pack to ice, if there's nothing to get on the exchanger then yes it's come on but normally no issues.
