AEM gauge

Hello

I thought of installing this two gauges from AEM, someone uses them ?
and having some experience ?

I use the AEM gauge works great, sensors are tough to keep over 1000 miles they go bad. Its essential so the price you pay for the information I guess. The sensor isn't specific to the AEM gauge spo it wont matter what one you use. The AEM seems to contend with moisture and very cold temps pretty well so I will keep it.

I use the Innovate Motorsport G2 gauges, and they have a powersport version of it with a shorter cable that fits really good, and has outputs for datalogging if you ever decide to use it. It costs around $200 with the wideband and controller.I think dollar for dollar, they're going to be very comparable in quality. I chose those because I use Innovate stuff in my shop, and the G2 series seems to be the closest match I found appearance-wise to the factory speedo. I have a couple sleds nearing completion now that I used Innovate's MTX-L digital gauge, and it comes with a couple different gauge faces and bezels for different looks.
 
The set up you're thinking is what I ran for a good part of last year. For the boost gauge, I would strongly lead towards a mechanical gauge and manual boost controller. The mechanical gauge is much easyer to see at wide open/ doing something stupid speed, I've never been able to see the AEM bar in this situation, just the digital read out. The digital readout is fluctuating so you have to average it out while looking at it. A mechanical is much easyer to take a quick look at. The electronic boost control works decent but I found the mechanical to be better IMO. The wideband I would agree with what others have said, with the addition that moisture gets behind the lenses on both gauges and I would have to remove the lenses between every ride. I would buy another AEM wideband, but I would try a inovate first. Call me crazy, but with my fuel system after a initial check, I dont even run a wideband anymore. Obviously I dont have a way of knowing if something went wrong but I had enough days on the system last year that I know with the pcv that my sled runs good every day and needs no adjusting.

Another I'm thinking about is to use a wideband for a baseline of my exhaust temps then use a ET gauge for my gauge that stays on my sled since the sensor will be much more durable and not be effected by leaded fuels.

I have used a mecanical boost gauge, but I think it was a little problem reading it when it's dark and when it's sunny wheather. So anyway I needed something else, and when looking a little around I find the AEM-gauge will fit me best. If I must use 100 dollars a year in a new sensor, so let it be.

The gauges are in order, so I'll have them in a week

any tips on where i should tap into for power for my guages? anything i should know? thanx in advance..
 
I run a relay from the ignition and pull power directly from the battery for all my gauges and anything else I hook up. Its nice having a clean source of power independant from the sled.
