Aftermarket Exhaust!!??

i have a MBRP exhaust an it sounds awesome. Not loud and made good powergains. When i installed i had an over rev and had to change primary weight. I also did the lower air box mod. This made it a bit louder

Well I hate complaining but here is the super Q I received in the mail. Doesn't look anything like in the pictures. I payed the extra money for the ceramic coating because they told me it would not rust. Not sure how that will work out with the big scratches in it. I took my fingernail to the scratched area and it flaked off some more. Looks like it is primer out of a can. The cutting oil and filings left in the end of the pipe after cutting I guess is a bonus. LOL Haven't put it on yet because I have to paint the end caps black so they don't stick out. Greyish white won't look good sticking out of the exhaust covers. Not really happy with my choice but I'll put it on and see what it sounds like. Will post before and after vids of the sound. Left out the pics of the holes in the welds.

Mike,

Who did you buy this from??

Installed my bender trail the other day.

Had a super difficult time, the pipes were not straight, so they wouldnt slide onto the header pipes at all, and bending the pipe did not go so well, it didnt bend at all.

I ended up destroying 5 exhaust donuts and decided to just use tons of exhaust cement in place of the donuts. I have no idea how they are soposed to fit in the pipe without maybe something simliar to a ring compressor or something.

I suppose if the pipes on the bender were actually straight, things might have gone a bit better, will see how the cement holds up. After running it today, no leaks and sounds awsome. At idle, almost sounds like you can hear valve tapping, but it sounds amazing when you rev it, cant wait to take it out!

Also, just for the record, you have to drop out the mono to install the pipe, and that completely sucks, installing the mono was the hardest skid I have ever had to install, even with no spring tension and doing everything right. I spent more time dropping that skid and installing it, then doing anything with the pipe.

Longest part of installing the pipe was the stupid donuts, which were never even used, and oh ya, the stupid bolt for the exhaust clamp had messed thread, which required me to re-tap the welded nut and the bolt itself.

Thats just my little experience.

I wouldn't use the exhaust cement without the donuts. You need the donuts in place so the exhaust pipe can be properly tightened around the manifold pipe. With all the twisting of the frame and vibration of the engine the exhaust cement will get destroyed. I think what you describe at valve tapping is an exhaust leak. Send it back to Bender and get a new one that fits. Thats what I did with my White Knuckle when I had a problem with it before I changed over to Excell.

i heard a rx1 yesterday w/ a hauk exhaust and clutch kit in it and it sounsed good but didnt have the same deep sound as the bender i heard. he had it set up to engage at 5400 rpms hang on lol.

I managed install my QS-1 with out dropping skid off.
Anyway i had problems to install this because measurements did not meet header pipes too good. I had to bend pipes a bit with heat and after that no problem. You can check measurements from stock pipe.

Ya, id like to get those donuts in, but dont have the time and dont know how to get them in correctly wihout destroying them.

Might have to do a mid season pipe pull and bend it with heat from a propane torch, then get someone at a yamaha deler to install the donuts.

You figure im loosing any power from this or anything?
