As Allen points out, some stockers had that low end burble. Add an aftermarket exhaust and you just notice it more. Adding fuel with a power commander or fuel accelerator at lower operatering RPMs will should clean that up.
Regarding fit and finish, the White Knuckle product is basically 100% concealed at the back of the sled. The welds, fittings are overall construction are great. Not sure you would worry much about the finish of the White Knuckle just due to the fact, YOU DONT SEE IT. The Excell on the other hand has much more thats exposed, thus needs to look nice, and does.
Both are nice products.

Why do you want louder?
I am confused, why the heck do you all want a louder sled? The last thing I need is the feeling of getting off a 2smoke with my head ringing. If I want ringing in my ears, I can go home early for dinner with the wife.

I would still like to see some minor tweaking to the inside of our stock exhaust. There are must be room for some hp gains....

NMYami said:I am looking for an aftermarket exhaust for my Apex Mountain and would like to stay with the stock type dual exit with angled tips. From my research it seems that Bender, Hauck, and White Knuckle are the only companies that make that style. I thought that someone on here said that Hauck actually loses power, True? With the aftermarket exhausts are fuel and clutching changes usually required? Most of you on this thread didn't make mention of that other than a stumble on low end. I would like to drop some weight off the Apex Mountain SE and I love how the Bender and Hauck sound, but I would hate to do alot of messing with the fuel and clutching settings. Thanks for any responses.
We sell the Skinz Super Q and Ultra Q mufflers for the 4 strokes that use the stock twin pipe location.

Yup he is right good sir, 88 dB is the limit. And if a cop writes you a ticket for simply changing your exhaust but you are under the dB limit, you can run that thing into court in a real hurry if you bring proof that you are under the legal dB limit.

Guy's the specification on the Super and Ultra Q mufflers says +/- 7 db and to me that is just to close for the WI law. Just didn't want to lead anyone in the wrong direction since that could put the 85 db up to 92 db 4 over the allowed law.Yamaholic22 said:pro116 said:Mike what is the decibal law here.

Does anybody ride in Wisconsin with the Excell exhaust? I know they are very strict on noise in Wisconsin and was wondering if the excell is quiet enough to use there?
I know the white knuckle is way to loud for WI. riding.
How loud is the Excell compared to stock or compared to White Knuckle?

Which white knuckle? There are two of them, a "quiet" trail version and a loud "race" version
