Excells are probably the best out there as far as quality and extra horsepower. Downside is that they are expensive but deffinatly worth the money.

Cant argue the quality of the Excell, however it is a single exit exhaust, meaning your loosing your quality exhuast covers for some plastic inserts.

For duals, tried bender twice, both times no good. For nice sound and something that wont crack (as easily) or bend or bulge, gutting the stock is good!

After marke exhaust

Why don't you gut the stock one. Lots of folks on here have done that and have been quite impressed with the sound. That's my plan for my 08 ltx in the next few weeks. :rocks:

Excell actually gives you an increase in HP, gutting the stock airbox is not.

If you're after a change in sound, then gut it.
If you're after more performance and more sound, Excell delivers.

I agree no gains are to be had by gutting the stock exhaust. But if you are mainly after performance, save your money and the headache of buying an aftermarket exhaust. I think the gains are a lot harder to find on an Apex with an aftermarket exhaust than other sleds.

IMO, if you want to make noise gut it. If you want to make power save the 1500 to 2000 dollars and look elsewhere for performance.

I Gutted my Attak exhaust last season. I like the sound alot and find it a great alternative to spending what Excell, MBRP, Sno stuff, or Hauk want for there exhaust. I am sure that they are great exhausts but you cant beat the price of gutting your stock one. Just my two cents.

It works great and makes the exhaust sound awesome. Here's how I did mine:
