I have seen alot of talk about studding and not studding the RX-1s with the Ripsaw track. I called 5 dealers in my area and they all informed me that you can't stud the RX-1 with this track. One dealer told me that if his customers want studded tracks they are buying 1 inch tracks and studding them for them.
I have heard people are ripping the heat shields off of their exhausts if they have studs.
I called Woody's and they informed me as long as I studded the track correctly there should be no problem.
I called Maxximum Performance and they informed me that they stud everything and haven't had a problem.
Has anyone who has studded their Rx-1 with Ripsaw had any studding issues or am I just being paranoid?? If I use a Megabite by Woodys is there enough room so that if the suspension totally compresses they won't dig into the heat exchanger in the front?
I could use some advise from some guys who have the studs and significant miles on them.

Should be NO problem with studdung as long as you do not ust too long of stud. Woodys 1.325 are what woodys recomends. Do not go over 1.40. Only problem I had last year is I studded the outer bands also, and had a stud rip out and put a hole through my heat echanger on my Warrior. :o| From now on I am only studding down the middle.

I have 1.370 studs in my sled and have NEVER HIT THE TUNNEL EVEN ONCE!!

YOu only have to worry if you run 1.40 studs or longer!!

THESE FRIGGIN DEALERS YOU ARE TALKING TO MUST BE IDIOTS!! JESUS CHRIST... THIS ISNT ROCKET SCIENCE!!!

I dont mean to be loud but its sad when i know more about sleds then the guys selling them to me!

I could ask the guys at my dealership anything about a RX-1 and im sure they would give me the WRONG answer or they wouldnt know at all what im talking about!!

Normal stud pattern, NO PROBLEMS! Didn't lose one all year. I took the heat shield out as it started to split around one of the rivots. I had a couple of small marks on the shield when it was removed but nothing major.

Kid, I was in the same boat as you last year. I took the advice from the people on this forum. I studded with 1.325 Megabites and had a great season. Not one issue with the studds hitting the tunnel. I have a couple of bent studds, but I am sure that was due to running to many bare RR tracks. I put 136 in all over the track. I think if I had to do it again, I would only studd the inner belt. Camoplast said that is the way to go. I will give it a try, if I like it, great, if not, I can put more in the outer belt. Rest assured, you will not have any problems.

Thanks for all the info. I was debating on studding the existing Ripsaw or replacing the entire track with that new Ice Claw track that Camoplast has. Now that I have a bit of feedback I'll probably keep the Ripsaw and stud it.
