Air intake Mod question

I just bought a 6 pack of the uni filters 1 inch,I searched around and noticed some of you guys only installed 2 or 3 of the 1 inch filters and then I saw someone with all 6 installed.
What is the best? all 6 or only a few?

Also I read where they might be sucked into the intake,I couldnt find that old post about what everyone was doing,Threading wire behind the foam? So that doesn't happen.

Actually I put a dab of moto silicone on 2 sides of the prefilter on each of them.

I see you have 8,did you notice a big difference in power?
Everything else I have on the sled is stock,I see you have a pipe.
what is moto silicone?A big difference from regular household builders silicone?

You will notice it on the top end alot I had them in with my stock exhaust before and it had better throttle response than stock, moto silicone is a type that can get gas spilled on it and won't deteriorate.

be careful of the metal ring melted into bottom to hold filter in, several of mine fell out and were floating around in airbox. I've since switched to 1 1/2 bullseyes and they work way better. Less restrictive foam and no parts to fall into airbox and get sucked into motor.

Ya the front is noisy with the pods in, when you get the pods epoxy the metal rings in place so they never come out.

What do you think about adding this without the clutch kit,

I talked to the guys at fix power sports and asked them if they sell the ram air lid separate and they told me ,you will without a doubt have to do
clutching as the additional HP you will be making is huge and it will blow
right through the stock clutching.
What do you think about that statement?

I would agree with that. the added air and can is a noticable increase and clutching is nessisary unless you ride up at higher elevations?

don't think the intake and exhaust mods are enough HP to think that stock clutching wouldn't work properly, don't get me wrong I think fine tuning is a good idea even on a stocker.

When I did the Air intake and exhuast my sled started hitting rev limiter on the bottom and top end Unless was in the perfect conditions where the track would not spin in loose snow then it would just happen on the top end. I had to make changes but I ride close to sea level all the time unless i'm climbing. The way I have it set up now I hit rev limiter on the flats on initial start if I peg it but it is perfect when I'm climbing in the deep stuff on wide open throttle. 11500-11650

I put 6 of the schmidt bros air pods in mine and they work fine . i took the metal snap rings out and put silicon to hold them in . Love the sound in the front when you grab the throttle. I heard that if you put 6 in it would let to much air in and fall flat at 60mph but i didnt have any trouble.
