'07 Vector. Got my new to me Vector with 810 miles home. Oil looked like it hadn't been changed so I did that and put in a new filter also. Put in 3 quarts Yami semi synthetic. Started up and let it run for awhile to check for leaks. It ran for about a minute and then started sputtering and died. Started it again but it didn't stay running long. Unscrewed the dipstick to see how oil level was. As I turned the stick out the last few turns a pretty good rush of air escaped out of the oil tank. The tank was pressurized after about a minute of idling. Is this normal? I don't remember this about my other 3 Yami 4's. Took off the little diaphragm mounted above the oil tank that would seem to be there for venting the oil tank back to the airbox. This has the one big tube coming from the oil tank, one little oil return line and then the tube after the diapragm that goes to the airbox. Oil has gotten past the thing and there is a little oil in the airbox. Again, is this normal? I blew through this diaphragm and it took a pretty good blow towards the airbox side of the thing to unstick it. I could not blow air back from the airbox side. This seems normal but I wouldn't think so much air pressure should be required to spring the diapragm open. Put everything back together and started it again. Still ran crappy. Put in new plugs and it seemed to help. Ran it on the stand for awhile and then turned in for the night. This morning I went out and checked the oil again. There was still air pressure in the tank after it sat all night. Is this normal???????Thanks.

I have never noticed air pressure in the oil tank on my 05 or 08 Vector.

The cap on my warrior and my brothers 06nytro is hard to unscrew and i do hear a faint sound of air rushing out after it gets hot.I think its normal but the part about you sled dying is news to me.Could be a fuel issue(dirty or bad gas) and not related to the oil change.

I don;t know if it would make a difference, but on my 08 Venture, which i assume the oil procedure would be similar to the Vector the book say to add two quarts and then run the sled for a couple of minutes, then shut it off and add the rest of the oil. Could adding all the oil at once have caused a problem?
