Airbox Covr not seating properly

The dealer removes the air box to install the battery when the unit is brand new. So if the air box is not installed correctly then the dealer did not install it correctly from new if you've never had it apart.

In your case you will definitely need new rubber boots/stacks

normally they are pretty easy to slip on the throttle bodies.

I've had problems on both my previous Apex and on my current Attak with the boots not wanting to slip on. They slip on fine after I spray a bit of lube on them. Dry though they are a real PIA.

I am not saying they are not melted,, but, you need to find what melted them because there should be no source of heat anywhere near them.

dip one finger on engine oil, then rub all 4 boots on the inside, they will slip on in 5 seconds.

funny, mine will not stat seated!
no matter how hard I try to push them on or how tight I get the clamps within 1mile the boots have slipped off the carb.
its been that way since new.

You can use lube if you run a NA sled.

I you run a boosted sled I would not lube the boots. What I do is to spit on the boots to lube them, it makes them fairly easy to install, this will not make the boots slippery. When the spit dries out it actually act as a glue. I know because it's hard to get them off, I have to pull quite a bit to get them off.
