It seems I have read here on TY that the air filter on these Apex/Attak sleds seem to accumulate ice/snow enough to warrant checking/cleaning them. It also mentions this in the owners manual as a pre-ride check. The only way I can get the lid off the airbox to get at the filter is to loosen the headlight pod so the lid can be flipped back enough to disengage the locking tabs at the back of the lid.
There are four clips that hold the lid down, so what do you all think of removing the tabs so the lid can be removed without messing with the headlight? The last thing I want to be doing, especially with alot of powder around, is fumbling with the headlight and steering post trim ring screws!
