Reading on Excell website they say that the AFR's are not affected by their air box mod and can.
Hs anyone had real time experience with the set up to confirm. I trust what they say just wouldn't mind a confirmation

I got about 500kms on my viper with the sandales pipe and stringray's airbox mod no tuner
no issues so far

1700 miles and no issue's what so ever, 15 ltx dx with ulmers intake (3k&N) and magnaflow sandales type can, except I made it, starts , idles and run's without any hickup's.

The 2014 sleds (without the re-flash 2015) will work perfectly and afr's will be perfect.

For those I have modded airbox's for that have the 2015 flash, some developed a lean pop and bumble....so like Cannondale said, a fuel controller would help out.

Here is an idea if you like it. Did this mod to a members sled just a week ago.... Buy the TPI valves from Thunder Products, do you airbox mod and you can open and close these as desired.

Nice, thanks for all the feedback. I like the idea of the Excell kit. But not the price tag. Just reading over in the MTN section The barcode guys are working on a air box mod. I emailed to ask them, but only response I got was it should be ready soon And its a really noticeable gain in the midrange. Plus there more to their kit than just cutting some holes.

Stingray's airbox mod is free

You can get midrange increase by cutting holes anywhere in the air box, no template needed. If you wish to get the power up above 7k where it is used you need to have velocity correct and that takes a bit of engineering. But I make exactly nothing on mine so feel free to spend money on the other ones.

I was thinking about making one myself but eventually threw in the towel and bought one

So your saying what nospro is recomending is a waste of money.
Interesting

You said that I did not. What he is suggesting is an adjustable system I don't see anywhere I said that

actually you were implying that if someone bought the barcode kit it would be wasting their money.
I just applied your theory and statements to nos pro because in all actuality what you said does in fact apply to him exactly as it applies to barcode.
Just because your airbox mod works ok, it does not mean that a vendor can not come out with a better system.
Taking pock shots at it before you know anything about it is a bit classless dont you agree?

I have a version of the air box mod and took it a little further. I have no seat time myself on it because its my wife's sled. I can tell you the mileage is great and it hasnt blown up. She only has 230 or so miles on it. We cruise at 50 to 70 mph and she says she is seeing 8000 rpm at the higher cruise speeds. I ran it for approx 5 miles thats all she allowed and wanted it back. I saw gauge speeds of 92mph on a normal trail at 8400rpm. It wasnt done but sanity plays a role. I feel the mod only helps.

I was responding to finsteray " I emailed to ask them, but only response I got was it should be ready soon And its a really noticeable gain in the midrange." which is what most of the aftermarket boxes do. And yes I think it is a waste of money to buy an air box mod when you can do it yourself, of course if you are not mechanically inclined please do buy one. In fact I just sold one of my modded boxes to someone that would rather have it done. Wasn't a waste though as he gets the entire air box. Now find an air box mod that is noticeably better than the one I designed and I will help you promote it.

Anyways I recommend the EVO flash for those that go air box mod and muffler.
