Alert for members we follow

I have noticed that I have a couple of followers, and I also follow a few members. It would be nice to get an alert when one of the members I follow posts something. Right now it seams they show up in " my news feeds", but an alert would be nice.

Any way to get that?

I did some checking. It will show only in the news feeds, this would be a server intense process that would put a big load on the server. Its just not very practical for the load.
