ALL DONE HERE ARE PICS Relocateing a 2006 Apex rtx skid

whats your opinion on using a kit with rail extensions ?? do you think they will hold up or will they be a weak point?

For me it makes the rails to long with out moving the shock. The one I rode with the longer rails rode poorly. With this setup it works great for offtraill riding becuasse of the angle of the track.

im looking at my options of stretching out my 07' apex rtx with toresion spring not a mono shock

Man im glad i finally found this.

Made my Tapex Gt 121-144 but it trenches to much for my taste, it wheelies at all command and i love it.

So im considering to get the 121-136 instead and do your mod + anti stab.

My concerns are that it will be to unstable in higher speeds and heavy on the stearing at hard packed trail since moving the skid back.

What would you say?

as for your mountings are there excactly 4" back and 3/4" down? and are the down forced due to moving back the mounts so you put the in the top of the tunnel.

The cost for me will be new 121-136 muffinworks + some stab kit, but which one? and were exactly to put it?

How about the rest:
pressure on the skis?
how about on the trail?
And did you end up with anti stab and wich one and were placed.

To bad about the wheelies, but feels like it should be able, the mtx etc has almost the same approach and seem to wheelie.. its great what a ton of extra hp can do :)

any before and after pic or mov?

The ski pressure seem the same to me, I could not till it. For trail riding it ran great the hookup was superior, and I had some push in the corner but that was from the add track. Here's the best evidence I can show you of trail riding. the trails were super rough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWFENPd ... ata_player

I did not run a anti stab kit, I just made sure the rail caps were on good with glue.

This pass March when I sold it I had almost 4000 miles on it.

I cant deicde now.

136 and stretch to 144 with skid setback 4" with backcountry 1.75
OR
144 and stretch to 151 with skid setback 3.5" with challenger 2.00

the only 151 i can found with 2.52pitch with lugheight that will clear in my Apex gt seem to be the challenger but it looks like my sled will tear it apart, especially on the hard trail.

Some has to be done to stop it from trenching this much but im not sure wich of these are the solution, but its cheaper for my to do 136-144 since i only need the extension and its easier to change back if i dont like it.

But bigger is allways more intreging ;O

Going to a 151 you may need Gearing and clutching done. That track came on my MTX and any long trail riding will kill that track. You will have bent on lugs.

Yeah came to that my backcountry is the best, so just payed and ordered muffins 121-136 and aswell Wahl Brothers anti-stab.

so got to tear down almost all, but im not getting how you did with the back mount, if i move it 4"back and down 3/4" It seems like the orignal nuts that are welded in the plate will come to much down under the chassie?

And as for the down 3/4" im still not sure if you mean that is forced due that you move the plate back in the tunnel just by sliding it back hitting the top of the tunnel as they are stock.

Im just at the point to mount them and dont wanna get it wrong.

dont you have any good picture inside and outside the tunnel ?
