I totally stripped my sled down to run on asphalt, and when I was putting on the quick couplers from Wahl Bros Racing, I noticed that the cross-over tube by the rear flap is way loose. The rivots are chewing into the aluminum. I can move it up and down an 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch. Might want to check yours. I knew something was always vibrating, and making noise, but never thought to check that.
Also noticed that my seat was rubbing the rivot on each side of the tunnel. When I took the seat off, I saw the rips. They are definetly from the rivots! I told my dealer, and they are going to warranty the seat, and relocate the rivots. Might want to check yours.

Is the rivets that are causing the seat rips or is it the ice build-up coming through where the rivets are located? My dealer is going to warranty my seat as well but I told him that Yamaha should come out with a fix or I will be back at the end of next season asking for a new seat again. :?

Hey FOX, It's definetly from the rivots. My dealer asked the same, but when I sent pics, they contacted Yamaha right away. I got an answer within 3-4 days. I saw pics and saw my friends sled where there was ice build up outside the seat, I never had that.
I took some pics of the ice build-up and will post them next week if Mr. Sled can get the pic post going by then. It looked to me like the ice was pushing through the rivets and ripping the seat. By moving the rivets does it look like it will help with the problem? Will it affect the tunnel supports? I would like to solve the problem before changing seat covers.

Hey FOX, I was wondering the same thing. I am going to talk to them tonight about it. If they leave it open, don't you think there would be more ice?
