Just a heads up for anyone with an RX1 w/ reverse (not sure on an APEX). I was just checking over my 03 shorty for the 100th time since I can't ride the friggin thing without snow, and noticed a major design flaw. The main coolant hose coming out of the thermostat housing and over the brake caliper down to the right heat exchanger rubs right on the gold anodized reverse lever bracket. I only have 2500 miles on my sled and its wore more then half way through the hose. Gonna replace it ASAP. Next time you're under the hood check it out. If you bust that hose on the trail, your sunk for the day!

I noticed that when i first bought my 03 , I took a 3 inch long piece of 3/8 fuel line, and sliced it down the side.I then slid it over the offending piece of metal.it has been on ever since.

Yah, the last couple of new sleds, w/o snow on the ground, I got bored and went over each of them with a fine toothed comb. You’d be surprised what you'll find. For example, on my Rx, I found that the drop link to the stabilizer was not on the spline far enough. The bolt was in. But the drop link was just barely on the spline. On an A Cat, I found a dry greaseable Jackshaft bearing and the block heater was rubbing the battery case, among other minor things.
