vectors are on recall for the clutch rattle. Talk to your dealer. My vector has 2900 miles on it and ive blown 2 belts so we brought it in to get it checked out and they are performing the recall and realigning my clutches. Should be sweet!

I was aware of the clutch rattle, but did not know that it could blow belts because of it. Is this an offical recall or just fixing the ones that have the rattle?

I don't think the rattle caused belts to blow. I believe it is a simple install of some o-rings to stop the rattle. I thought that is what I read, could be wrong though.

Have they made this change on the 06 Vector line up and the Nytro? Do you know?

Thank you

Yes, the 06 sleds are supposed to have the same fix.
Prolly have a muted rattle, but the loud clanking is gone.

Odd tho, wont have anything to do with belt life.
Must be the alingment on that.

ive done a clutch repair with the kit on a vector. it is an amazing difference. do it or have it done. best 12bucks you can spend.

Is this just the vector's? my 03 RX1 has always had the clutch rattle and my 05 aint much better :?

Steve your RX has 180 degree power pulses. The vector has 240 degree and that makes a loud clank more than a rattle. In fact after the fix vectors will have somewhat of a rattle but it is not bad.

Your sled has a gear reduction and those can rattle. The parts are $12.80 and if I pull the clutch myself my dealer will break it down and reassemble for $25. So I dont know if it will help on your sled but it MAY not cost much to find out :D

Thanks Tork that rattles been bugging the crap out of me since i got it! I'll add that to my summer project list ;)!

Steve, the other area where you could get a rattle is the weights and weight bolts. The older clutches had set screws that held the bolts tight, the newer ones do not. I used O rings behind the nuts to do the same thing. With some of the weights they have plastic washers as shims, so you want to make sure those are shimmed properly.

Why not send your primary to Allen Ulmer, he can fix anything :D

i dont think thats too bad...i blew my clutch belt at about 2900mi...and put on bout 700mi on the second belt..doin good

So is this an "official" recall; in that they are/will be sending out letters to all Vector owners, or simply a service bulletin where you have to contact your dealer about the clutch rattle/alignment?

I talked to my dealer yesterday (maxxper) there is no service bulletin , but he called and there sending the kit.

Any of you guys who have not had the clutch rattle fixed yet, check the faces of your drive clutch. If you have over 2,500 miles and you do mostly steady 50- 65MPH cruising , the faces might have bad wear grooves in them.
