clarksrus said:Mine broke too. First ride off the trailer and I wasn't even pulling hard on the lever. The thing I found is that if you are on any kind of incline its harder to put into reverse.
After it broke, I tore it apart, threaded the metal post and made an aluminum handle. Its sweet!!!
I knew someone would do that, good on you clarksrus...I may do the same.

Well boys,
the part came in today and I couldn't wait to perform my first repair, but boy was I in for a surprise.

You would not believe how tight that pin #8 is inside that handle # 7...I had to pound on it forever to get the pin out. The inside circlip must be for decoration because the chance of that pin ever coming out on its own is less than zero.
But, the repair is done, and it was covered under warranty (I actually could have had the shop swap the part, but I figured I'd save them the headache.)
For anyone else who breaks there handle...Let the shop do it.

Update: Handle #2 is toast...
Went to back the sled off the truck this morning at the dealers (pre-season service) and the handle came off in my hand. Service techs were there and I didn't pull hard.
Waiting to see if this one will also be warrantied.
PLEASE, PLEASE someone start making a billet handle for this.

Has the handle been updated for the 09's, and will this aluminium one fit with knee pads?

The handle was actually changed in the middle of last season, but is no better. I'm pretty sure the one I broke off in front of the techs was the new one. It has a white filler in the middle as opposed to the solid black plastic, which I'm guessing is supposed to add some strength.
The billet one looks like a nice piece, but $22 to ship a less that 2lb piece within Canada (standard parcel) is highway robbery. I'm waiting to hear back from my dealer on a warranty handle. If I'm forced to spend money on a handle I'll bite the billet (pardon the pun) and pay the shipping. If I get another warrantied handle, then CR has another few months to sort out their shipping.
For those of you who want sometime to compare to...Frank from Shocktec shipped me a shock via courier (ground) for $35. What do you suppose the weight and size difference is between a shock and billet handle not to mention courier vs standard mail.

Mine stopped doing that dump truck reverse beep for quite awhile last year.
Thought it was going to fully fail in some way.
But then started working again.
I'm going to take a closer look before the snow flys.

There's a micro switch that turns on the beep. It has nothing to due with the machine actually being in rev. Just a simple adjustment. You'll see it when you look in there.

I'm not gonna bash Yamaha and say the part is defective...weak maybe, but not defective.
I don't think mine will be covered so I'll have to order one from CR for to allow for my impatience.
